Hang on! In one week you will not be hungry! That is so amazing to me that I am feeling no hunger. Keep up the good work!

I have a call in to the dietician about my spitting everything back up. I'm really worried. Only holding down about half of what I'm putting in.

Glad you called. It sounds like something may be blocking. I will say a prayer that all goes well.

They told me to take it slow and sip every ten seconds. Said it sounds like I have a lot of gas a mucus to try and get thru. Suggested some milk with 1/2 the recommended Protein Powder to try to get some good natural sugar too. Suggested I freeze it and eat it like a Frosty.

If I can't hold things down they'll want me to go in for IV fluids because I haven't urinated since this morning.

I'm on pureed food for 2 weeks. He gave me great recipes to try. Soft foods after this phase.

Could you share a few of those recipes?

Well I have 10 days left Til surgery and I am sooooo worried that my liver will be to large to have the surgery. I've been on this liver shrink diet three weeks but I have messed up a few times like last night I ate chips and salsa at the Mexican restaurant and last week I had low sugar ice cream every night and I've had sandwiches for lunch instead of salad for a few days.. I have messed up so bad the last week and I'm nervous my liver won't be small enough. :-(

Have you lost on your diet?

Have you lost on your diet?

I've lost about 8-10 pounds. My nutritionist said to stick to the diet and I will be fine not to worry.

Keep an eye on the dehydration. I may try the freezing a milk product, sounds like it would be tasty.

Hey girlie... I wanted to say. Remember me saying all the trouble I had on the 2nd day? I wonder if your intestines aren't just taking a million years to wake up like mine did. It took me 4 days just to pass a tiny toot. Lol when my intestines were still asleep, they had to give me IV fluids cause instead of my intestines pushing fluids down, they would come back up because they were working yet. Some people take FOREVER for intestines and bowels to get working again. Maybe that's the case. If it is, do as much walking around your house as you're physically able to without nourishment to keep you going.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
