Traveling rny peeps...

Recommended Posts

I don't know how the ones after surgery travel for jobs pleasure or whatever. Left for San Antonio Wednesday to see my daughter graduate from airforce basic training... Here until Sunday... And it's tough. Takes a lot of planning.. Also the stress of no scale... Yes I am a scale-aholic!! Making me crabby!! Upside so proud of my daughter. She graduated with honors... Top 10% of her class!!!

Congrats re: your daughter! I'm going to be away for 9 days at 2 months out. I'm going to be working with my nutritionist to figure out what to bring with and what I'll need to buy at a local-to-my-hotel grocery store while I'm gone. It's going to be a lot of work, but I wouldn't miss my trip for the world!

I'm traveling to Puerto Morales when I'm right at two months out. I've already discussed with my nut that I might be living off of shakes for those 8 days if there isn't allot for me to choose from. Yes there will be tons of fresh fruit ect, but my plan does not allow that for some time.

Thanks SO much! I just ordered a variety pack of Syntrax nectar singles after reading your post. That will come in SO handy when trying to deal with TSA in case they make me throw away my Isopure (despite me planning on having a doctor's note to try to help my cause). Gotta love back-up plans! :) :) :)

Ohmygosh, HUGE victory - I just called the hotel where I'll be staying for my trip, and not only are they willing to accept a delivery of groceries for me a day before I get there (local grocery stores don't deliver on weekends, and I'm arriving on a Saturday), but the hotel is also willing to accept grocery deliveries mid-week (for replenishment), so I won't have to miss any of my beading classes! SO grateful, this will make trip planning a zillion times easier. I'm glad I called to find that out as well, rather than trying to suck it up and go grocery shopping after a day of traveling. Shout out to Hilton for being so accomodating! :) I'm making this happen, darnit! :)

Don't mix the shake until you get through security. You have to buy Water on the other side. I had 14 packets of Protein Shake and all my nuts too. They are concerned with liquids. Once you pass through buy a water and shake away. Glad I could help.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
