Couple bites of meatloaf, cauliflower and some mashed potatoes. I probably won't eat all of it, and I'm one week away from stage 3. Too much? What am I doing wrong? I weigh in at the bariatric center tomorrow where I've weighed in since November, but new home scale hasn't moved since 4 days after surgery. This isn't what I signed up for

Maybe it's not how much but what. Potatoes are full of carbs and although on our list at first long term shouldn't be eaten often. You're Protein should be your biggest portion not your potatoes. Just a thought. Focus on high Protein foods.

I would ditch the potatoes-they are full of carbs. Make sure you eat plenty of Protein and Protein first. If you miss potatoes try using cauliflower as a substitute and put in blender with butter and some milk or laughing cow and you will be amazed how great they taste.

I would also use a small plate and i use like 1/2 cup of whatever I am eating. Your food portions look big and it is obvious you won't be able to eat all that. I also try and make sure it takes me 20-30 minutes to eat. I set my silverwear down between each bite and chew chew chew.

I also have heard some people say they thought they were eating too much and stalling so they did a Protein Drink for bf and then had lunch and supper. this helped them alot.

The surgery is just a tool...you have to make the choices...I am two weeks out and I can not have meatloaf until week 6...I am also limited to 1/4 cup of food...High Protein and low sugar/carb. Your meal looks a bit large- maybe try cutting down your portions and eat more protein and less carbs.

People keep saying that, Im eating off the list I was given and Im allowed 2 tbsp of potatoes. Didnt finish them, finished the cauliflower and ate almost all the meatloaf. Drinking two shakes a day and either having an egg for dinner or another Protein, drinking tons of Water and exercising. Doesn't make sense.

Don't want to offend you, but I also believe your eating way too much. I'm 11 weeks out and still on liquids, but that pic of your plate of food seems outrageous for someone who just had surgery. You should seriously consider cutting back and limiting carb intake. Like so many have already said, WLS is JUST a tool, you have to "work" with it, not assume its just going to magically make you drop the weight. Keep trying, believe me the weight will come off, just don't give up on it.

I would call my nutritionist. I again would ditch the potatoes and stick with Protein and veggies and fruit. Are you exercising? Do you track you calories so you know how much you are taking in? How much have you lost since surgery? Are you measuring and do your clothes feel more loose? if you were at a lower weight then before it might take longer. Stalls are natural and it might be your body trying to hold onto the fat-thinks you are starving yourself so it is freaking out. Just follow your program, eat only when hungry, eat slow, exercise, get lots of fluids and Proteins and everything should work out. The WLS is only a tool so you have to balance it with everything else you were taught.

I put a call in to to the nutritionist and they'll be calling me back. And thank you for answering me in a non - talking down to way. I get that the plate looked big but it was literally one piece of cauliflower, 3 ounces of meatloaf and potatoes I didn't finish.

I am exercising and using the my fitness pal app to track my calories. Had maybe 900 calories yesterday. I was 298 to start, 273 at surgery time, and one week post op was 255 and two weeks later I'm 254.5. Clothes feel looser and people see a difference but I don't. And contrary to what people are saying I don't think the surgery is a magic trick, but eating next to nothing twice a day and gettig tons of liquid and the correct amount of Protein PLUS exercising, and nothing happening, is discouraging.

I agree- it is discouraging mostly I think because we have failed at losing weight so many times and keeping it off and we do something very drastic and don't see the results as fast as we would like. Hang in there. WLS is not a magic trick- you really have to follow the program and use it like a tool. Thankfully you have called the nutritionist and maybe they can help you decide what to tweak to help you get that weight loss moving. I had surgery 1-24-13 and stalled for like 12 days-kinda freaked but then it started moving again- I just cut down the times of the day I was eating. My surgeon would like me to eat like six times a day- I eat 2 maybe three with one Protein shake. Everyone is different and every program is different. Keep us posted- and again Hang in there!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
