Dang! I'm so jealous!!

I'm still waiting for my energy to come back. I no longer need to take naps every day, but just being up and around all day kicks my butt. On the plus side, I should say that at least I'm not gaining weight... For a while there I was nervous. And I *do* have enough energy that I could go out and do some serious gardening yesterday (which is probably why I'm so whipped today). I want my metabolism/thyroid back! Waaah!

LOL!

I get it checked again in two weeks...

I was hoping it was not my thyroid and glad you got it figured out! Imagine how much better we will feel once we are "normal" again. :)

Going out for new bras tomorrow! The current batch are just ridiculously huge....I figured I'd just step down a size but Cecilia blew my mind with bra sizing and I may have to let the fitter at Dillard's molest me tomorrow to see where the heck I am! (Leaving Friday for a week in the Florida keys! Soooo excited!!!!!!)

I have a question for you ladies. I had my surgery February 25th and was wondering when you started trying popcorn or even of you have. I went to the movie theater with my husband and it was driving me crazy smelling it and not being able to handle it. That and salads...I sant one so badly and I actually just lost my insurance so I can't go see my surgeon and ask him this stuff soo any input would be amazing. Thank you guys in advance.

I had surgery 2 days after you and I've been having salads since the last week of April. I just tried popcorn last week and it was a very small amount, but I was fine with it.

I found some old bras in a box of clothes I thought I'd never wear again... it feels so weird to wear smaller bras! But honestly, as long as they're boosted into the correct elevation, I don't care how big or small they are. Just so they don't droop.

I would try them in small amounts. I was able to have popcorn with my kids, but I try to bring something else to snack on instead (like apple slices -- was so yum!)

Well I have to tell y'all about I feel like a 16 year old who's been out on her first date I've been divorced about 6 years and was married 10 years . Well about a week ago I saw a friend of mine and a couple of days later he called me and said that his friend that was with him wanted to take me out and he told him I would go with out asking me I said are you crazy he said no I need to get out so I agreed but tried to get him and his girlfriend to double with us he said no she had to work ok we go to dinner ( I was just hoping I didn't get sick Red Lobster so fish is ok for my tummy) and then he asked if I wanted to go to the Laser Show and Fireworks at Stone Mountian well we had a very nice night so he's called me everyday since and sends me sweet little tex so we had our second date tonight and it was great this is such a strange feeling hadn't been on a date for about 17 years. He just wants to do everything for me open doors hold my hand to get up and in and out of the car didn't now guys still really did those things for you. Just makes you feel good and special 5 months ago I probably wouldn't have gone .

I love this... You just made my day... Have fun!

Everyone's progress sounds great! I had surgery 2/28/13. Started at 291, now at 234. 57 lbs! I can eat anything, but find I don't like fatty or sweet stuff much at all. I love my salad with a bit of oil and vinegar. Yum. Of course, quantities are small and it is tough to remember to stop eating at the first sign of fullness.

My clothes are a joke! My bras are huge, my bathing suit was a bag. Bought a size 18 bathing suit. No 26 for me!

The surgery was a breeze compared to my fears. No complication very little pain. So glad I had surgery!

I am becoming an attention whore. I love the reaction I get from people that haven't seen me in months....makes me feel wonderful! Also makes me want to slap myself for not doing it years ago! C'est la vie! I'm doing it now right?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
