thanks gyfts I am getting really scared I have a low pain level and I am worried that I will not be ready for the pain their are a lot of great ideas on here so that will come in handy I am going out to buy the gas x strip right now....thnaks everyone for all the support

five more days to go and I am a nervous reck anyone else feel the same way before they got banded

hi Gret and Karlee! welcome to bandland!

i was really nervous, but listen, it went very smoothly. I could probably compare it to a c-section light...its not as bad as all that, but similar in some ways.

For me, gas after the surgery was a huge issue (still is a little) this is the gas they put in your belly so they can move stuff around, your organs reabsorb it and so you will probably swell a bit. Just do EVERYTHING your surgeon tells you to do, and walk walk walk. It hurts to first get up, but once you are up and walking it helps your body get back to normal faster. also helps the gas bigtime! Keep us posted with your experiences too. This board really does have a wealth of info.

  • 1 year later...

Hey,

I meant to post yesterday on my one year anniversary. I can't believe it has been a year already!

I started out slow losing only 13 pounds the first 2 months (8 in the preop diet), and then 5 more after my 1st fill. After my 2nd fill I got true restriction and as of yesterday I was down around 84 pounds. It's been slow and steady, but I have hit a plateau in the last month, and am going in for a fill this Thursday. I am happy with my weight loss though. I haven't exercised that much yet, so that is my plan for year two. I want to be a goal by next year at this time before I hit 40.

Good luck, and thanks for bringing this post back up, it reminds me how far I have come and hopefully the others on this thread will see it too!
