I am the crock pot Queen. lol. Quartered potatoes with chicken thighs on top. Very tasty and such a small portion only took a few hours in a small crock. Yesterday was 2 baby back rib bones in crock. Often I cook in crock while I am sleeping so food doesn't overcook on my long work days. Plus I can take some for lunch.< /p>

I almost had a break down at the super market tonight. I wanted to buy a chicken to roast it and the only ones they had were 4+ pounds. I don't need to make such a big chicken just for myself. I'm so sick of my diet and eating the same things. I work 12hrs a day and I'm usually too exhausted to come home and cook just for myself. I'm so sick of tacos' date=' chicken and meatballs. And not to mention I don't even remember the last time I hit my Protein goal. Any quick meal ideas that are easy and super high in protein?[/quote']

Just read ur post in email...my heart is breaking for you!! I'm a nurse & do 12's at night so I totally feel ur pain!! Not to mention, I just changed jobs so I only have 3 nights/wk now vs 5 at HMA. Anyway, I bring eggs & FF cheese, cottage cheese, a Protein Drink that heats up well (I like muscle milk) lunch meat, Publix chicken, cheese, yogurt etc. I add salsa to the eggs & it's pretty good. Salads are good, but at night I usually want something warm. Good luck Chica!!

Have you tried the Atkins frozen dinners? They are low carb, low sugar and high Protein. They are microwaveable.

But the chicken and roast it! Then tear it apart to make chicken salad, chicken enchiladas (which you can individually freeze), chicken Soup (which you can individually freeze), and chicken pizza with a low carb wrap... I roasted a chicken on Sunday and tonight we had Asian chicken lettuce wraps and tomorrow in making chicken corn chowder to freeze for "sicky days". :)

Jeep, buy a game hen. Makes 4 meals for you and Walmart sells them for about $2.50.

I second the crockpot suggestion.

I could give you some Indian chickpea recipes, if you're feeling like a non-animal protein.

Chili.

You can very easily make the filling for wontons into meatballs. Yeah, meatballs, but with a different flavor profile they can continue to be tasty.

Roast your chicken, then use leftovers to make chicken stew. Or what I like to do with already roasted chicken is saute it with a mix of chili powders, bell peppers, onion, and garlic.

Deli sliced meats with Condiments of your choice like mustard or guacamole. You can eat them plain or with cheese if you like.

Shrimp salad. Crab salad.

Chicken rollitini (pounded thin chicken breast, with cheese and other fillings of your choice, rolled up and baked).

Crustless pizza low carb:: low fat cream cheese, 2 eggs, 1/4cup parmesan cheese. Blend together with mixer, put in oven ,10-15 min. Until light brown. Take out and add sauce, cheese n all favorite toppings then mozzarella cheese again and back another 10-15 min. Sooooo good :)))

I would've bought the chicken. The possibilities are endless for roasted chicken. I'm in love with low sodium taco seasoning (even better if you make your own) I use the breast after its cooked and shred it, add a little Water & taco seasoning and heat it up in a pan and use it for wraps, salads, dip or my Fav an omelette (sautéed peppers & onions + pepper jack cheese) When it's gets to the end of the chicken, I take the rest of the meat off, boil the carcass w/onion, carrot & celery for a stock and make a Soup. I even make up dishes such as double chicken deviled eggs, boiled eggs cut in 1/2 remove yolk (chicken in the food processor w/egg yolk, mayo, mustard, a little relish, salt & pepper and scoop back in to halved egg white shells)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
