I must confess...i have :-(

Preop weight 389 current weight 327 that's 62 lbs lost since RNY 6/11/13

It's called "ruminating" I've heard of people doing it but never felt the need to do it myself.

I cooked steak in crockpot five hours on high with onions celery carrots in a beef broth. In the last half hour I added roasted red peppers for added flavor and garlic. The steak was tender. My husband loved it. High Protein and low carbs

I am going to suggest not eating chicken and sweet potato in same meal. I got so full omg it hurt. Didn't vomit but I kinda wish it would have happen. I need to learn the take a bite chew 25 times sit fork down and go again. It's hard to do that when te sweet potato is creamy and no lumps. I did chew chicken well nothing got stuck. But pheww it was painful.

When I know that I have something to eat that is simply soft and will probably eat too fast, I get up from the table and do make work. Like get containers to put remainder of dinner in for my husband's lunch. I slow myself down and his lunch is ready.

1 head of broccoli' date=' florets trimmed and stalk peeled and chopped

3 slices turkey bacon

1 large onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 tsp dried tarragon

6 cups low sodium fat free chicken broth

1 cup fat free half n half

1 Tb cornstarch made into a slurry with 1 Tb Water

6 oz shredded chicken

4 oz low fat sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Cook bacon in pan coated with cooking spray. Remove when crisp. Add onions and broccoli stems. Cook over medium heat until onions are translucent. Add garlic and tarragon, cook one minute. Add chicken broth. Bring to boil, reduce to simmer for 15 minutes. (At this point I purée the Soup because my daughter won't eat the broccoli stems, but you don't have to.). Add half n half and cornstarch slurry. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce to simmer and add chicken and broccoli florets. Cook 10-12 minutes until florets are tender and soup has thickened. Add cheese and reserved bacon. It's so good. I attached the mfp stats.[/quote']

Cool

Meatballs again... I'm really getting sick of my diet but after a 12 day I don't want to cook anything. Nor is it easy to cook for one especially when I'm not a huge fan of leftovers.

1/3 cup whole grain cheerios and lactose free/fat free milk. I have never tasted anything so delicious in my life.

I haven't had carbs since the end of Feb. Tonight I am hurting and in pain and just feel like I needed some kind of snack. This was perfect. I hope my pouch feels the same way. Please, oh please...

Sometimes I pick up prepared food at the grocery store. There's one next door to my work that has a Soup bar, a hot food counter, and other foods available at the deli. On different days of the week they have an Italian bar or Asian bar. I can buy a 1/2 cup of chili, chowder, or broc cheese Soup, a slice of quiche, one meatball or crab cake, a mini meatloaf or grilled chicken, 1/4 lb of eggplant parm or general tsao chicken, or a little egg salad, cranberry walnut chicken salad, or six bean salad. If I don't feel like cooking little meals for myself I get a little something different there. I buy such small amounts it's not cost prohibitive. :-)

This might be my fate. They're opening up a whole foods near my work very soon. I might just have to take a look at what they got. I just have this impression or some reason that the pre made stuff isn't that great for us. There's no nutritional facts that I can pick apart so I just assume its not good. I think I'm going to need to get over that.

Spaghetti squash and two shrimp. I'm so excited about the thought of some 'pasta'. I put 1/2 cup squash in my bowl and after 3 bites I'm full. This stuff is awesome!!

Whole Foods will display ingredients lists on their food bar and deli section. The rotisserie chicken salad is AHHHMAZING!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
