Way to go, Tracy!

Glad to read that our April 2 banders are doing well! Yay!!

I'm in limbo here... waiting to hear if I'm approved by ins... I have no idea if it's even been submitted yet... have a call in to my dr's office to see if I can find out... I think I'll feel better if I have even a rough idea of timing here... I'm thinking now that I won't be an April bander... is there even a May thread?... even if there is, I doubt it's as good as this one!... maybe I'll just stay here anyway... ha ha ha... you'll all be stuck with me!... Question: Should we keep adding to this post or should we start a new one each month?? Is there a point when it's too long?? Just wondering. Ok, I'm babbling here... have a great day, everyone!

I wish I could change my date, would love to start early!!!!!!!! Im pretty happy with the 18th though, I had my last appointment with my Doc on the 30th of March and thought Id have to wait until at least june or july to get my date!!

You have 7 days to go how exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you nervous at all?

I hate to admit it, but I'm not the least bit nervous. At least I'm not allowing myself to be. Hubby is extremely supportive as are my kids. I've been wanting gastric surgery for years and years, but never had the courage to do the bypass route. Once I found out and researched the lap band, I knew it was for me.

that is so funny, I had to tell my best friend this horrible story because I'm going away with her thursday. I am bringing jelly beans with me LOL

Tracy

I got some protien powder 23g protien and 1g carb at Walmart, Whey Vanilla flavor, I tried it this am to see how it taste, pretty good so I am going to get more. Big thing of it was $10 which I didn't think was too bad. I do want to get some non-flavored so I can cook with in the future, but the Vanilla will work during my liquid stage

Im not nervous either, very excited though!! Its nice to have people around you that support you isnt it? My hubby is very supportive and my oldest son is too (the others are too young to understand, they think im gonna come home from the hospital skiinny..lol). Gastric was too invasive for me and not reversible so thats why I opted for the band.

They sell the protein powder at walmart? Thats soo good to know becuz ive been wondering where to get it from!!!:clap2:

:clap2: SO VERY PROUD OF YOU!

Yay Darla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to tell you guys what just happened...........

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of myself.

So I go ahead and leave for lunch, I tell my boss that I'm going to go by the post office at lunch, did he have anything that needed to go. He then asked me to go by Wendys and pick him up a #7.. )He does not know I started a diet, he does NOT know I'm having surgery) So I say... OK....... (now NORMALLY, when he asks me to do this, I usually make him buy me lunch too, and if nothing else I buy a diet coke out of his money)

So.. he hands me a $20 and I go on my way...... I stay strong... I eat a hb egg to stave off the hunger pains.... I drink a fast glass of water....

I go through the drive-thru, I order his food and I don't even look. I mentally hold my nose so I don't smell the fries. I return to work and dump off his smelly food and head straight for the break room and get my LC yogurt and a glass of ice..........

I'm SAFE!!!!!!!!!!! I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEW

Yes, just look at the containers because of few of them had tons of carbs and/or sugar. But hey for the price! I can manage that

OK.. here's the thing. My doctor doesn't require protein shakes post surgery. He and the nutritionist say that the protein will come from yogurt and/or skim milk the first two weeks post surgery (clear liquid phase). I just put a call into the nutritionist to comfirm that cause I read in just about everyone's post about protein drinks..

oh that would be nice if I didnt have to do the shakes because they are not cheap from what ive heard!!!! Let me know what your Nutritionist says!!

Just got a call back from the nutritionist and she said.. NO protein shakes. I should get enough protein from the yogurt. She said if I felt I needed extra protein to get the powder that mixes with water.. YUCK!! I said no thank you, I'll do just fine on the yogurt!! Course you have to remember this is what MY doctor and nutritionist require. Obviously everyone's is different, but I'm so thrilled that I won't have to worry about gagging down some protein powder. Course when I get really hungry I'd probably love to just chew on the container the stuff comes in!! :)
