I love egg drop Soup in the early stages after surgery. Now its hot and sour Soup plus a shrimp or scallops dish eating a few pieces of seafood. (All chinese) then mexican...there are some yummy mexican Soups...or refried Beans and cheese.....enchiladas made with cheese...can eat about a fourth of one.

Mediterranian foof...hummus...babaganashe....and numerous other pureed choices.

Lol we just had this disagreement too! I HATE HATE HATE paying more than $5.00 for me to eat out I find myself ordering a side of cottage cheese. And it's a hard adjustment for the hubby because we always ate out. If we were shopping, going to the movies, on a date night, or just not in the mood to cook we ate out.

But the funny part is I eat Wendy's chili all the time because its less than $2 and it's 17 grams of Protein.

When we go out I look turnkey burgers to order the patty with cheese, I look for Soups without bacon, I look for sides of shrimp, shrimp cocktails.

Lots of luck!:) -Jenn

I am 8 months out and can eat most anything in small quantities. I do like Soup. Also I try to share my meal. I love seafood...or if steak...a filet minion. (Its soft and chews easy...) I like salad. I try to get it with Protein in it. (Shrimp preferred) protein with sauce is a must. No bread. Minimal carbs. I give all but a tablespoon or so to the person I am sharing the meal with. (Potatos or rice for example)

My go to meal is seafood based, preferably scallops. With a nice soup as an appetizer.

We went to a steak house as a family and I got the Soup and then ate 2 bites of my husbands steak. Soup is usually my go to. We have a hamburger place here called Rons and I always get the small chili and eat about half of it. My husband orders a med chili and then eats the rest of mine. Cheap date night always under $10. Its great!!!!

Try to change your date night to bowling or skating or the movies. Most of my activities ar centered around going out to eat too, so I try to do other things that won't get me in trouble!! :) Good Luck

I have this same issue! From the Midwest so our entertainment always includes dinner.. I have found that I eat fish best. I can eat chicken or beef ( steak is still hard) but I feel full after 2 bites. I love the lunch portion tilapia blackened at red lobster. I can eat close to half of the fish and a few bites of broccoli. I take home the rest for lunch the next day.

Outback's shrimp is yummy. Hubby can order meal & add on the shrimp for you or you can order shrimp appetizer.

My program gives us a card that explains our pouches only hold about 8 oz, and asks for permission for us to order off the kids menu or seniors menu. I use it even though I haven't had surgery yet, and every restaurant has let me order what I want

I have this card too but there is nothing good on a kids menu. Most consist of breaded chicken nuggets, burger, corn dog, or Mac and cheese. I could the seniors menu but its a constant tug of war with me just not wanting to spend more than 5 bucks since I don't eat it all. We went to eat last night and I order a shrimp side with 6 of them it was perfect :) I ate a small bite of the hubby's mashed potatoes.

I def. agree on the kids menu thing... Applebee's actually let me order a half entree and pay like $4-$5 less for it...

I usually just order what ever it is i normally get but sub my sides for fruit and veggies, or something the hubby wants extra of. Then I box about 70% of my meal as soon as it comes to the table. I love left overs for lunch. Or I try to find something I like on the seniors menu and box about half of it. If they give me trouble I just tell them I have a medical card that explains why I'd like a smaller portion and if they'd like to see it.

How do you get the card?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
