First day on pureed phase - and I wanted to puke

After 4 weeks on liquid diet, I was so very excited about the pureed phase of the diet. This morning, I had two egg whites with a little garlic and was in heaven. At lunch, I tried a 4 oz can of tuna with a tablespoon of light mayo. Felt like I swallowed a brick - or maybe a cinder block. Excessive salivation, light-headedness, tight stomach and general malaise. Ugh. Two hours later, I feel better, but may stay with Protein shake or Soup this evening...

Anyone experienced something similar? Did I just over-eat? Your thoughts please.

Tuna is one of the hardest things to get down... Has to be super moist and I can only do about 2 oz... Seems like you wouldn't have to chew the heck out if it but in realty you do!!!

I wonder how early some people ate regular food? I start puree on monday and im kinda nervous...ive had some smallll amounts of food just to satisfy my taste buds..everything went down ok. No issues. Thank god.

I was placed on regular food at 6 weeks. however I was placed back on phase one while in hospital and now phase two until I see the doc again. but I can't eat anything everything is making me sick I am drinking water but barely

I had the same issues with certain foods. Keep trying different types. Best for me was ricotta with marinara and a little Parmesan or FF refried beans with puréed salsa and Greek yogurt for sour cream.

Sounds like dumping....i had trouble with tuna..eeekkk...don't be afraid to try other things tho...

Try about an oz of canned chicken. I had the best success with that as my first meat. Tuna is hard one day I was fine the next no go. Good luck!

Seems like the amount was excessive...maybe just overfull rather than dumping. >4oz is a lot for just being several weeks out.

I find tuna and chicken very difficult still at 10 weeks out. I did best with lean ground beef or ground turkey--try putting some salsa on it for moisture.

I start Soft Foods Tomorrow! On Pintrest I'm finding intresting stuff some Pureed Stuff, I want to try Avocados again and Hummus :D I Can't Wait :D

Blend the tuna with mayo until it's so soft. 2 oz may be enough now and u may increase it later. Take ur time chewing too.
