Gosh, I'm new, too! Anyone with experience care to comment?

:nervous Hi! I'm getting my lapband (finally) next week. I've been looking into WLS for 7 years (!!) So gosh I'm not excited at all I just feel nervous and wish it were all over and that I'd be losing already.

I would love to meet some folks who have already been through this and could offer some encouragement?

Thank you so much!

Tina

I felt just like that! The day came and I started my journey to being a new me!

I came here daily for support and plugged in with some really good people. I still come here daily, for info, tips, support. That is the best thing to do. Read all the posts you can!!

Actually, you are one of the folks who have inspired me the most. I've read different threads over the last few years here.

My surgeon basically referred me to this forum saying that this was an excellent source of information!

Thank you so much!!!

Welcome to LBT Tina!! Congrats on getting your band next week. I was so excited for my surgery I could hardly stand it. Being banded has turned out to be the best thing I have ever done for myself.

Good luck to you and keep us posted! :clap2:

Hi, Tina! Welcome!

Make sure you go to the February 2007 bandsters thread and have your name added there!

I was just banded on Monday, and I'm feeling better and better all the time! I graduated to full liquids today!!!!!!!!:hungry::clap2:

Tina,

Hi and welcome! I was banded 9 days ago and am doing great! So far, I have no regrets. I am on full liquids and doing very well.I am not hungry yet and as a matter of fact, I get very full from my liquids. I have not weighed myself since 1/30, at that time I was down 16lbs from following my 2 week pre-op diet. I have to see my nutritionist on 2/14, so I know that I will get weighed then. I also see my surgeon on 2/15. I hope to be able to go back to the gym soon. Best of luck to you- I'm sure you'll do great-Gigi

There are a lot of great stories here! And good answers to questions.

Congrats!

Hi Tina, its natural to be a bit nervous. Congrats on getting your lapband. I'm down 45 lbs since June. I am actually considered a slow loser. I would say the best advice is to get to optimal fill level as soon as you feel hungry. It may take you several fills to reach that level. I have had 5. I have a 10cc band which holds 4.2 and I'm at 3.0. I eat like a bird now and I'm super happy. Good luck.

You were steered in the right direction without a doubt!! LBT is one of the best things about my WLS. Losing weight, and getting healthy are great---but equally so are the friendships I have made, and the peace of mind I have knowing there are so many out there, in the same boat I am, willing to share, and support in any way they can.

We will all be here, waiting to hear how the surgery went!!!

Personally I found the surgery to be a very easy one, with minimal discomfort, I would say I was never in actual pain. The recovery was quick. I know everyone has a different experience---but I was a lucky one! I have had 2 adjustments/fills---and have good restriction. I am just now begining to lose again, after hitting a plateau for 6 weeks or so. Banding was without a doubt one of the best decisions I have EVER made!!!

Good Luck to you---we look forward to having you in Bandland!
