  1. First is May 2006, right before surgery. Second is last summer, July 2007. Third is my work xmas party last year. I guess I need to take some new pics, eh?
  2. Heyloooooooooo to all you skinny bitches! Apparently I have been missed?!? Thanks for the myspace message marcy! I am still around, haven't logged into this site in FOREVER!! How is everyone? This thread has gotten way too big for me to go back to where I left off months ago. I have been super busy with roller derby. I am now the VP of my league and seem to be involved in everything that is derby these days. I went to KC in Feb on a derby trip and was in Milwaukee last month for an annual conference for yup... derby. I am trying to figure out a way to get to Vegas next month for a girls weekend with a bunch of derby girls. I am still not at goal. I gained some weight and have since lost what I gained and a little more. Still have about 40 pounds to go but it'll happen. I hate my job and am looking for something closer to home. Gas is killing me! Talk to ya'll soon! :blushing:
  3. Nope, haven't lost weight in months. Derby is back in season and I'm skating 7 hours a week again and I need to be able to eat more. I have been PB'ing and getting stuck A LOT and it was time for an unfill. Going out for a steak dinner tonight! Tom did my unfill and I LOVE him! I'm a Tom girl from now on!
  4. Hey strangers! I'm going in for an unfill this afternoon at 2:30.... will anyone else be there at that time? If so, say hi! xoxox
  5. Ummm... can someone tell me again which exit I take off I25 to RR? I can't remember! :help:
  6. Just wanted to pop in and let ya'll know I am still planning on seeing ya'll at Red Robin tomorrow night! Work has been crazy and I need a fun evening with you crazy ladies! :whoo:
  7. I am in for RR on Dec 13th! Especially if my buddy Kirsten will be there! RR has yummy french onion soup. :hungry:
  8. I first heard about the band in January 2006 and started doing some research online to see if any doctor's in Denver were doing the surgery. I found Dr K and met with him at the end of Jan 06. I weighed 289 and had a BMI of 43 when I had my consultation. My husband got really sick and was hospitalized so I put surgery off until May. I had soooo many "last suppers" that I gained another 10 pounds in the 2 weeks before my pre-op diet. I stuck to the pre-op diet and was 280 on surgery day. Surgery itself was really no problem, I just felt like I had been doing crunches all day, I was up and walking around about 30 minutes after I woke up. The first few months the weight really melted off. I had 2 fills in that time. In August I noticed I wasn't losing and didn't feel any restriction. I went in for a fill and Dr K was only able to pull .2cc's out, my last fill had been 1.5cc's. He put 1.7cc's in and we waited a bit and he tried to take the same amount back out and he was only able to pull less than 1cc out. He decided at that time that I had a leak. A couple of weeks later I went in and had a fill under flouro with contrast so we could tell exactly where I was leaking from, and it was confirmed I had a leak in my tubing above the port. The port and tubing are connected, so it all had to be replaced. My husband got sick again and I had to put my port replacement surgery off until November. Exactly 6 months after being banded I had my port replaced. I opted for general anethesia (I'm a wimp!) and was in and out of surgery with an hour. Dr K gave me my port and tubing and the tubing was punctured several times. He said he probably punctured it accidentally when trying to give me a fill. I started losing weight again and by Feb 07 I got down to 205, for a total loss of 80 pounds. I haven't lost weight in months but am down to a size 14 from a 22 so I can't complain too much! I always wanted to play roller derby... were else can grown women beat the crap outta each other then go buy each other beers afterwards? Losing 80 pounds gave me the confidence and ability to skate 8 hours a week and I love every second of it! There's my story in a nutshell! Aren't you sorry you asked? :faint:
  9. I have asked this same question many times Gadget! We got really into "Big Love" and I still can't understand why polygamy is illegal. It's not illegal to be a drain on society is it? (Not that I am condoning that, just sayin')
  10. I was banded by Dr K May 2006... just wanted to pop in and say hi to all the Dr K newbies! :whoo:
  11. Awwww... the Melting Pot! Hubby and I went there for our anniversary last year. YUMMY! Thanks for all your kind words everyone... you all mean the world to me! :clap2:
  12. Hey gang! I have been MIA for awhile, life has been busy! I won't be able to make tomorrows gathering but hope to make the next one. We are going into a 3 month off season with derby here starting Saturday so my schedule will open up a bunch. I am a pretty frustrated bandster these days. A year and a half later I have only lost 75ish pounds and have been gaining and losing the same 5 pounds for the past 6 months. A few weeks ago I had a horrible PB that caused me to have a lot of acid reflux... to the point it was waking me up and I had to sleep propped up on pillows. That lasted a few days but has since gone away. I decided to wait it out for a few days before I called Dr K because I knew he would probably just prescribe Nexium and my insurance doesn't cover it. I have times that I can eat with no trouble and times that the smallest things makes me stop up like a clogged drain. I know most of this is my fault because of my food choices. I didn't get banded to be on a diet though. I want to be able to eat (most) of the things I love just in drastically smaller portions than I used to. Maybe I just need to bust my ass with more physical excercise and see what happens with that. I took most of October off from skating, I think I made a whopping 3 practices. I was fighting a cold then a GI bug last month. I have made 3 practices this month already, in fact yesterday I skated from 2-7:30. 2 more hours on Thursday and then I am off for 3 months with only one practice a week during that time. I know this is a horribly rambling post and I appreciate it if you made it through. Hope to see you soon!
  13. As promised... Halloween costume pic! I am in the white wig...
  14. Ladies... I am going to TRY to be there tonight. I am dealing with some personal shit right now and I'm not sure if I can make it or not. If I don't make it... know that I am cheering each and every one of you hot mama's on!
  15. For me, I spent: $9950.00 to be banded $0 for my port replacement I actually spend MORE on groceries now because I only buy high quality organic meats and veggies. But I save a bunch on perscriptions for high blood pressure that I no longer need!
  16. I was not required to have any kind of psych testing prior to sugery. Luckily, I haven't gone postal.... yet. :heh:
  17. Just bumping the thread back up to the top of new posts is all. It's a common term on message boards.
  18. Email them! They get stuff in super quick!
  19. try www.angryyoungandpoor.com
  20. Mal... the bout was great! We had about 2,000 people there! The Bad Apples won by a pretty large margin. The Green Barrettes have lost some pretty important players to out of state moves and injuries and it really showed on Friday. I got some surprising news at practice last night... I am invited to test up on Thursday night! This means I will be tested to be placed on a team! Next month this time I will be finding out if I need to start loving camo or red...:clap2: For Halloween me, Kylie of Backlash and Truth Adere are going as the Furies. The Furies are the Roman goddesses of vengence. Should be great fun! Hope to see some of you there!
