Hey guys! I'm 25, and had RNY on June 30th! Nice to see some people my age :)

how are you doing post op? I have my surgery on the 12 so excited :)

I'm doing pretty well! I admit some days the thought of food is gross, but I think that's part of the learning curve. I find that there are days all I want to eat is cheese, or yogurt, or something along that sorts.

I am now almost 2 months out, and down 55 pounds.

One thing I want to be upfront with you though: at first it hurt. You're body is recovering from major surgery. However, it definitely does get better and easier <3.

I expect it to hurt I've been told it will be similar to when I had my gallbladder removed and that hurt but was not unmanageable. Congrats on being down 55 lbs so far. I think that's my biggest fear is I will do this and do everything right and won't lose, I know it's silly but the thought is still there.

Hey all...I am 25 and have started the process for my gastric bypass I am in my first month of the 6 month supervised diet for insurance approval....I'm glad I found this group. One reason is because most of the people I even hang out with my age don't understand why I would do this surgery and why I can't just diet like they all do, also most of them are normal weight so they don't understand even where I'm at being a morbidly obese 20 something.....it's a whole different ball game trying to live a normal young life when you are uncomfortable in your skin. Anyone else like just starting would like to have a buddy that is on the same time frame for surgery...I am supporting everyone in this community on their journey and welcome any advice and lend a listening ear....or I guess lend a read screen haha!
