  2. I'm just waiting for my doctor to release me to TTC--He said he will probably release me in January (right after hitting the 18 month mark). I'm still curious about the statistics behind having multiples post-op...does anyone have any info for me? I don't really mind either way, I just need to know if I should mentally prepare my husband for the possibility, and I am wondering if the statistics are about the same for people without the surgery and ourselves, or do we have a higher chance of a multiples pregnancy.
  3. Bumping and following. I should be released by my surgeon in January to TTC, and we want to do a home birth or a birthing center also.
  4. I'm doing pretty well! I admit some days the thought of food is gross, but I think that's part of the learning curve. I find that there are days all I want to eat is cheese, or yogurt, or something along that sorts. I am now almost 2 months out, and down 55 pounds. One thing I want to be upfront with you though: at first it hurt. You're body is recovering from major surgery. However, it definitely does get better and easier <3.
  5. Just to say upfront: We DO NOT have any intention on trying until I am at least 1 year post op... I've read that the chances of multiples go up post op...how long is this the case, and how frequently? I've struggled with PCOS ever since I was 12, so I worry that I'll be the ONE woman who will still be infertile post op...
  6. Not too bad today. The work routine seems to help my energy. Was sleeved on 6/24 and this past weekend it seems I went backwards. Was getting in at least 3 of my New Direction protein drinks a day plus all the required water. But this last weekend I was SO FULL every time I tried to drink the shakes that I could barely get in two. Not enough calories or protein. How are you doing today? I'm doing ok. I'm just really tired today for some reason...
  7. Congrats hun! Keep up the good work
  8. Hey guys! I'm 25, and had RNY on June 30th! Nice to see some people my age
  9. How is everyone doing today? I'm just sip-sip-sipping... So how is your first holiday going (4th of July)?
  10. I had to do a 2 week liquid diet. And to be perfectly plain, I'm glad I did. The 2 weeks got me accustomed to what my life would be like post-op. I got the chance to combat my head hunger a bit, as well as find a Protein shake I could get down. I'm still using the same shake post-op. Everyone is different, but I really think it set me up for success.
  11. I was once told that if I ate this cabbage Soup all day EVERYDAY I'd lose 50 pounds.. I was told by someone who was sitting there eating a poptart.
  12. Groupon and Living Social has a lot of activity deals as well. I'm hoping my husband and I will do some of those "Paint Nites" and stuff.
  13. I got a call as I was checking in that it was cancelled. I had a complete breakdown in the hospital. They got me in later that day though, so I was pretty lucky.
  14. I don't mind! A bit longer. I chose the full bypass for a couple of reasons. One is that my doctor is very hesitant to do lap bands anymore. Another is that I had a WICKED sweet tooth, and felt the bypass would be the best to help combat that. And finally, that was the one my surgeon recommended for me, so I was willing to have the longer healing time.
  15. RNY is a Roux en Y Gastric Bypass. I figured if I am going to do this, I might as well do it all the way, lol.
  16. I'm just drinking protein shakes and water. I am moving around alright. I try to walk as much as possible. I find getting in and out of bed is the most uncomfortable part of my day. I haven't been hungry or light-headed at all. 8 ounces in 2 hours last night made it feel like I had a Thanksgiving Day feast. It was so weird.
  17. Mind if I join? Hi all! I had my surgery June 30th! (I made it into this awesome group by the skin of my teeth!) I had RNY, I am 25 years old, and I'm doing alright! I'm a bit sore, but I'm able to get liquid down pretty easily. It actually scares me how easy it is, but at least I'm not having trouble...right?
  18. I was told to contact should I gain, so that they can help me adjust and figure out why.
  19. A little sewing and altering you could probably make it so it doesn't fall off! I love this!
  20. Okay, that's good to know. I'll try not to be too nervous then.... Thanks
  21. I got my first appointment! It's for a psych evaluation. What should I expect? I'm so nervous but excited to get the ball moving.
  22. So I know post op you have to crush pills. What happens when you are sick and need to take a huge pill and it says "do not cross/dissolve/etc" on the box? Are there meds for congestion that are WLS safe? I am on one now (boo being sick) so it made me think of what would've happened post op.
  23. I had a couple... I noticed that I refused to have a ton of pictures of myself on Facebook. If I looked in the mirror I would INSTANTLY get depressed (even if I felt good beforehand!)! I think the kicker was when I went to a local theme park with my DF. I had to get off a ride because they couldn't buckle me in. This was a work event for him so I was mortified and embarrassed....I did everything I could not to cry in the middle of the park while he went on the ride. I knew something had to give--my asthma is the worse it ever has been (its a good day if I don't get a sharp pain in my chest from breathing, and that doesn't happen too often). There is also a chance for diabetes (going for the official test this week......) I have no energy to play with my future step kids who I love dearly and it kills....it really sucks
  24. I currently wear a size 13 shoe, and I'm curious if that will change too or not?
