need to step it up!

Recommended Posts

So I am three months post op and down 50lbs. I am 200lbs and my goal is 160. I need to step it up!! To be honest I haven't worked out one day this whole 3 months!! Ok sure I walked and did a little but nothing you'd think it'd take to burn off 50 lbs. What are some exercises you do?? What helps you stay focused and not get bored or exercise?? Now that its winter you can go outside much. I need help to become more active!! I can't stop now!! 40lbs to go!!!

First of all congrats on the weight loss!!! I don't like to lift weights or anything like that... But found a route I like to walk outside and faithfully do it everyday no matter what the weather... Key is find something you really like and just get off your butt and do it!!!!

Kristy above is soooooo right...... find a exercise you like and you will want to workout !!! I love to run and look forward to getting my run on daily. Exercise is a great stress reliver and it also melts away the lbs. on me. I was at a stall during the summer, I am almost 9 month post op. I increased my workout time and intensity, I wear a heart rate monitor to keep my heart rate in the fat burning zone etc. The key if find what you like to do and just do it !!!!

It's just hard sometimes bc I get bored or something. I've found I like riding a spinning bike with a video. I'll step it up and try it more.

Cmarie... Trust me when I say, no one used to hate exercising more then me. I loved sitting on the couch eating my life away. It's all about changes in all aspects of our life. Keep doing it and trying new things. I love walking but not around a track which is why I do a neighborhood. Keep trying different things. Eventually your body will crave some sort of exercise. It really does!!! Keep your chin up you will find something that works for you. And it definatly increases weight loss or at least inches lost when the scale doesn't move.

Keep your exercise interesting and switch it up... which will also challenge your body. As I said above, I love to run but everyother day I use my elipitcal. You may want to try the Wii they have some awesome workouts that really get your heart pumping and they are fun too !!!

I went today to set up my gym membership and the lady told me to come back Dec 26th, they're having a membership sale, $15 cheaper a month fees and no initiation fee! Woohoo! It's so worth it to save the money, considering its only 2 weeks away, I'm only 3 weeks out from surgery.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
