That's so hard at 1st seeing all the goodies. After a while it won't bother you. If I really crave or want a slice I eat half a slice & not even cuz I'm sharing with my 2 year old but the urge goes away. I have Also passed on a Lot of pizza & I'm mentioning this because I love love love love pizza. But nothing feels so good as been thin & a size 4

I think it is time for a come to Jesus meeting as they say. When I started my journey my husband and I had a long talk about sweets. I always felt when I was succeeding in my diets he would bring home some sweets and then say well just have self control and leave them alone. Hubby has never had weight issues. I was about one month post op and he brought home a chocolate pie. I would typically keep things bottled up with something like this, but we sat down and I said this is what I am talking about. It finally hit home and we had a talk about what sweets he could bring home. I hate coconut and he loves it. So he brought home coconut pies.

I tell you that story because in order to be successful you must have the support of family. There will be a time when she can bring those Cookies home again, and you will not want them, or can tolerate a small little bit and be satisfied. However right now you need support during this transition period.

Stand up for choosing to be healthy and happy! You deserve it!!!!

Thanks for the support ladies. I've talked to her and husband and they do.not.get.it. They won't change, and neither have weight problems. I'm just so hungry and have a headache and am just in the mourning food stage.

I understand they do not get it. My husband does not get it, but he realized this was important to me and supported me by not bringing in things that would tempt me.

Please speak to them again. Come from the angle of you may not understand it, but as my love ones and family this is what I need right now. Then lay out what you need from them. I am 5 months post op and I could not have come this far without the support of my husband. I do to want to scare you, but many people wind up divorced after surgery because they realize that their spouse was not supportive. Maybe seeing a counselor with them will help. You do not have to understand weight issues to offer support!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
