Teresa, hang in there and finish your education for YOU! Then you will be your own master. I wonder who'll be making more $$ once you start teaching! I don't think it will take an Einstein to figure that one out. It will be you. Now, will you stoop to his level and tell him that he's worthless or rise above it w/dignity and continue your regal life journey. You're too smart to get drawn into those "games". No one really wins. It just keeps something stirred up all the time. Hey, get in there and study that Chem, young lady! Best of luck!:D:) :)

Day Three (Week Two)

Breakfast - tuna salad, 2 low-fat ritz crackers

lunch - 1/3 hamburger patty w/mushroom sauce, sugar-free ice cream bar

dinner - 1/2 meatloaf slice, steamed broccoli/cauliflower, sugar-free chocolate pudding

snack - tuna salad, 2 low-fat ritz crackers

8 oz. fat-free skim milk, 1 Peanut Butter cracker

Exercise - cleaned out 2 closets. My son asked if those were all new clothes lying on the bed. Nope - donations, and some nice stuff.

cleaned house from top to bottom.

Good Deed - returned some items to a remodeling store (that I'm never going to use). Gave stockers "job security", a feeling of being needed. Also, made DH very happy to get $$ back!

Water - o.k., need to do better

Not much to say about my day. I had a very good day with food. No snacking. Did fine with Water.< /p>

No exercise, except walking the mutt.

Good deed: gave a girl who made copies for us extra money to cover for people who don't pay for them.

I'm worried that my weight loss has stopped this week. I guess it's about time. :D

Sorry to hear your husband is being a butt, Theresa. That's a pain. It sure doesn't help when you need to concentrate on school.

Everyone have a good day tomorrow.

Thanks Becky and Marie,

I know... I am done studying for the night. It gets to a point that it all just goes round and round in my head. At one point I was trying to figure out how I had gotten the correct answer to some homework questions I did the other day. I battled with it for 30 minutes and finally figured it out. That was one of the simpler problems! There are just so many steps and peices its mind boggling. I am going to study for a couple of hours in the morning and then work a few hours and then off to the test. It can't be as bad as some of her past tests...

Normally KC and I get along pretty well but he has no sense of responsibility and sometimes it drives me nuts. He was 18 when we got together so we have basically grown up into adulthood together. He never even understands why I am mad about things like this nor does he realize any wrong doing. We are going to the coast this next weekend so maybe we'll get some chatting time. It is hard not seeing him all week. I also want to see about counseling thru our church or something. Don't know, but somethings got to change. I know I'll be making more eventually. Hubby thinks that will be the time he gets the life of leisure... Ha! Yeah right! If he goes back to school, he had best work part time thru it too. Really he is a bigger idiot than you realize. LOL. Since he works at a college, we BOTH get all of our classes basically free there. He has been there 5 years and hasn't taken a single class.

Today I ate:

1 veg. sausage

1 egg

iced mocha (sugar free)

1 oz Jerky

1 veg. sausage

2 chicken legs (no skin)

1/4 cup cottage cheese

snacks:

1 cup of cheese popcorn (75 calories)

1 biscotti @200 cals.

1/3 apple

Ended up being just under 1000 calories. Not sure if I'll get in to weigh tomorrow or not.

I didn't get much excersise today but was surprised I didn't collapse from those stairs. I'll have to try those again. I ussually avoid them and take the elevator.

Marie, they sell those vegetarian sausages at costco. I think it is $8.69 for 24 of them. It is only slightly better priced then the grocery store but I like getting them in quantity. Thanks for the love all and plan on having a better day tomorrow. Teresa

Just think, Teresa... I've been with Chris 13 years. So in 3 more years your husband should surprise you with a brand new $30,000 Harley Davidson, and then blame YOU when the rent is late. I'm feelin' your pain sister, ouch, ouch, ouch.

There are some good men out there. Not many, but a few.

Teresa: I feel your pain. I was married to my ex for 11 years and with 4 children to support he thought it was stupid to buy diapers, clothes, food, formula, bottles, shoes, pay electric bill, pay Water bill, pay rent, etc. Instead he would buy stereo equipment, parts for cars we didn't have but would buy later, stereo equipment for the car we didn't have but would buy later, clothes for HIM, etc. I always had a steady job which paid way more than he brought in. Thank god for that otherwise we would not have survived. I never rubbed it in his face. You don't do that in a marriage. Long story short he was an ass and I dumped him. I am NOT NOT NOT NOT saying for you to do that. I am just saying that is what worked for me.

If you guys can get some counseling and it starts to improve then that is wonderful and it was meant to be. But if it doesn't work and you still are feeling crappy about the relationship then leave him for two weeks and see what happens. I don't mean divorce him I just mean a little break from him. Make him pay his own bills for a change and take care of himself. Sometimes, that wakes them up. LOL!! Just a suggestion. Sending HUGE hugs to you.

Lisa: I think YOU will win this competition. I am stuck at 45 lbs loss and can't seem to get over the hump. I am probably in one of those 6 month plateau thingys. LOL!! WHOO HOO!! LISA LOST 50 LBS. YOU GO GIRL!!

What do you want from Jamaica? And men don't count. I can't put them in my back pocket. I have tried.

I don't think I'll win this competition because my body loves a good plateau. I can't imagine in my wildest dreams losing any more than 50 pounds, so you've got plenty of time to win. What do I want from Jamaica? Hmm, let me think. OH, I want you to enjoy yourself by edulging in all the island's delicacies. Eat as much fried food as you can, lots of chocolate dipped macadamia candies, Jamaica Almond Fudge cakes... Drink way too many Pina Coladas with EXTRA whip cream. Take some time off from movement and lay around the beach - take advantage of waitresses, butlers and maids and just lay around like a potato snapping your fingers for extra butter. And whatever you do, don't drink any Water, only thick, creamy, blended booze.

Lisa: Yeah but what else do you want? I am going to do all that and more while in Jamaica. LOL!!! You forgot, manicures, pedicures, massages, cabana boys with rum soaked rags that are cooling to you at poolside, drinking Yardie Martinis, Rum creams, Daiquiris, margaritas, red stripe beer, chocolate martinis, rich creamy dishes made with island treats, rum cream brulee', chilean sea bass, lobster, steak, not too much is fried there with the exception of plaintains that is, pastries with honey, am I there yet?

I leave tomorrow for Nashville, TN to visit friends and family then fly to the Island on the 31st.

Will try to check in while there but don't hold your breath. LOL!!

I want jewelry, sandals, a leather hand bag, a cool hat, wind chimes, a tapestry, sunglasses... Penni, I want it ALL!

But don't worry about me, just eat yourself sick like I just did. I just sabotaged myself by overstuffing my lil pouchy. Not sure what got into me, but it always seems to happen when I have good success.

Have fun, ya Mon!

Ports do not rock my world, that's for sure! Maybe I'm actually better off than the ported. If and when I do get a new port, maybe it will be easier to install on a smaller model!

Not having a port might be a good thing after all.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
