Steph. Congrats. That's an amazing loss!

I've picked up the exercise lately. I just hope I can keep it up. I'm 219 right now and hope to be 200 by the end of March. That's pretty aggressive for me but I hope to at least get close.

So it has been 15 weeks since my surgery. I had my surgery on Nov 2nd. My weight on surgery day was 243 with my highest weight being 253. Today I am at 181. I am feeling so good! I finally ran out of any clothes that use to fit me including pants that I have saved throughout the year! I am down to what I was in high school when I graduated in 2007. I can't weight to get where I wanna be. It is a lot harder than each day you go' date=' but I love the challenge.

Stephanie[/quote']

Your story is so much like mine...HW 253 DOS 11-26-12 246lb......cw 194.....I don't have any clothing that fits......its a good feeling but frustrating to not have any clothes that look decent!

xo Hilary

Worm I'm 218 and I'm hoping to be in a size 14 by March 9th. That's the big st Pattys day party here in our town. I'm in size 16 now and the last time I was this small was my senior year of high school. We are both losing weight at the same speed. Excersing will def help you out. And you will feel better. I feel gross if I don't make it to the gym.

I am finally down 40lbs (woo hoo!). My surgery was on November 20th. I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything that is going on with my body. I have had to purge my closet 4 times now and I work out 5-6 times a weeks (3 days of strength training/weigh lifting). I couldn't figure out why I'm not losing as fast as everyone else. My nutritionist said that chances are that I am building muscle, so I'm just changing a pound of fat with a pound of muscle. I know something is going on because my body is changing rapidly. I'm trying not to get so caught up with the scale anymore. I am seeing the difference in my clothes.

Congratulations on all of your achievements!!!

I CAN NOT BELIEVE it is three months for me today!! I am down 44 since surgery. I was hoping to be at 50 but I am still happy with the results. I am in a XL/L top and around a 16 in pants. I was a 22/24 and a 1X/2X when I started this process. I have a long way to go but I am starting to feel "normal" again.

My next goal weight is 197. That is what I was when I got married 17 years ago. I have only been less then that for about a year back in 2004.

I had RNY on 11/21/12 I am down 86 pounds as of today. Weightloss has slowed down, but that's okay. I know I'm still losing inches. I still haven't found the right Protein for me, so I do the best I can. I do not waste calories and meals on anything other than protein. No fried foods no breads no starches. Protein, protein, protein. Almost 3 months out! (2 more days)

I have myself a pedicure last night. I have lost enough weight to be able to bend straight over my knees to paint my toes without getting dizzy or losing my breath. No more crazy contortions!!

I went for one last night & I didn't have any problem pulling my pants legs up, no difficulty getting in the massager chair & didn't jiggle like Jello when the chair was massaging me - at least not as jiggly as 60 lbs ago. I was so happy I almost cried from joy!

Oooo which reminds me, I went down a slide this weekend after losing this weight so far and I fit! I went down smooth and fast. Before the surgery my hips wouldn't even let me fit and I would scoot and get stuck rather than slide. This was awesome!

Ok. Been a long time. 3.5 months since surgery. Lost 70 pounds now. From XXL tops to Medium or Large top. Cannot wear any old clothes. Jeans down to 36 and that's loose now. I can feel my ribs now. Shoe size dropped a whole size. Serious threat of losing rings off my fingers. Never regretted my surgery for a single second! Feel amazing!

I am ready for summer activities! I already have loose skin even tho I still have a long way to hit my goal, so I am worried a little about what shorts and sleeveless tops are gonna look like. Right now it is easy to hide behind long sleeves, turtkenecks & spanx! I had my surgery on 11/21 and my highest weight a year ago was 356. I was 320 at surgery & at my 3 month mark now I am 254. Can't wait to get out of the 200's though...even tho I am happy to be down out if the 300's.

I am so excited for summer. Idk where anyone else lives but I live in upstate NY and I do nothing but freeze. I have never been so cold. I'm ready for Summer the heat and to get outside. I feel like I've been stuck in my house to long and I'm excited to wear shorts for the first time in many many years.

We have the same surgery date :)

Have lost 59 pounds now, and still feel it's too slow or sometimes worry that my surgery wasn't a success. Just hang in there and keep hitting the gym, as long as you are losing cm's - that's what we can see and feel in the end.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
