I'm reading this and smiling. I had some yogurt today! It made me happy too! It's the small stuff. Happy for soft foods lol

Got cleared today to start the soft foods phase! Yay! So on the trip home, hubby and I stopped to eat. I got wedding Soup, so I could try out the meatballs and if was too afraid, could at least drink the soup. All went well, but I stopped myself after 4 meatballs, mind you they were the size of dimes, not half dollars! I figured baby steps, don't need to make myself sick the first time out of the gate LOL

That is great sure is funny to think about what we used to eat compared to now haha it is great to eat a 1/4 cup of what ever it is and it last longer that most meals I used to eat.

Had one of my worst days post-op. I guess I let myself get dehydrated and unfortunately constipated. Soooooo painful.. Magnesium citrate eventually cleared the way (sorry for TMI) after 10 hours of writhing pain. Don't want to have that happen again!

Did u check with ur doctor before using the magnesium citrate? It's carbonated & we shouldn't have carbonation. Would hate for you to have any further problems.

Yes- I called my DR and he told me to take it and also start mylanta daily. I could only have 1/2 bottle (150ml) and it wasn't too bad.

Hello all! Glad to hear we are all progressing. Today I can switch to full liquids. Scared of milk (Stephanie I'm glad you posted that and good luck at work). May try some lactose free Protein today. The one I have is very thin.

Glad all of you are losing!!! I'm a week from RNY but only three from my stricture surgery so I still look like a Macy's day float lol!

I don't really have head hunger but I watched my hubby make turkey sandwiches yesterday like my dogs do! :-)

This is odd. Skim milk is my favorite now. Between that and Water is all I ever drink. I can have oatmeal now so it goes with that too.

I tried oatmeal and skim milk together and I still got a little sick! I used to love milk pre op and ever since I had it the other night I may not again! I did buy soy milk last night. So I will give that a try!

It's so weird. I'm afraid every time I put something new in my mouth. Baby steps. :-)

Steph: how was you first work day? You were out three weeks right?

Yes. I was out from Nov 1st to Nov 25th. Yesterday wasn't too bad. I still felt sick like I had to throw up all day. Still feeling it today some. I was tired some and my back hurt from having to sit all day. I couldn't wait to get home and lay down!

I just drank 10 ounces of magnesium citrate and am waiting for it to take effect. Tomorrow is the big surgery day - my first real surgery in my life. I am nervous but going through with it. Reading your posts about post-surgery makes me feel better because it helps me understand what to expect. Did you have to have a surgical drain? How long did you have to wear it?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
