Day one of Hip Hop Abs.

Day two is gonna suck. I used muscles I didn't remember I had. Hope I can crawl out of bed in the morning.

NONE! Help me. I need some motivation. My Dr. Wants me walking 40 mins. a day and on my best days, I have gotten close, but it's not routine yet. I can't fathom walking that much right now when I get light headed just walking upstairs at home or trying to load the dishwasher. I am 7 weeks out from surgery, but have had some complications that kept me in and out of the hospital for over 5 weeks. I feel like I'm just getting started. How did you all get started in the beginning?

It took me almost 2 months before I could do anything. I wouldn't worry about getting to 40 so soon. The doc means well but we know our bodies better. I remember only being about to do the elliptical for 10 minutes when I first started & now I am up to a hour. I am almost 5 months out. You will get there in time but don't rush. I did in the beginning & it set me back weeks.

How is hip hop abs going? I was thinking about trying it. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

It's tough but almost fun since it's kind of dancing.

I'm excited for my Doctors appointment tomorrow 3 months post op. Down 87 lbs since my first appointment with the doc. Down 70 since surgery. :)

Knock on wood I've been blessed. I haven't had any dumping syndrome and not tossing my Cookies. But, I haven't had any breads, rice, pastas. I'm feeling good. :)

Went out and walked 4 miles and enjoyed the fall colors :)

Best part, going up the hill was not a struggle, not even huffing or puffing :)

Here is a suggestion for those that are having a hard time making it to the gym because of work or whatever maybe going on in your life at the time. I have a stationary bike, a mini trampoline, mini stair stepper, resistance bands, weights not to mention several different work lit videos that I use here at home. It's cheaper to do this at home in my option and you can do it when you can a little more easier that way too. I'm 3 years post op now and I haven't stepped a foot into a gym.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
