OMG Hilary I thought the same thing! How did this time seem to go by so slow and then all of a sudden WHAM...it is here! I am 90% excited and 10% nervous, but only because I have never had ANY type of surgery before. Little worried about being in the hospital without my hubby (he is dropping me off because we have 3 kids), but I feel better since I found a couple of people who will be walking the halls with me either the same day or the next day. I already picked up all my meds too :) I couldn't be more prepared....just nervous about the unknown, and Hungry.

I have never had surgery either Dawn. .....I have only had my wisdom teeth out 9 years ago. So I feel ya there!! I have to pick up my meds tomorrow....how awesome of them to give them to us early! I miss my coffee already! As a night shift nurse that is a staple!!! It is all for the greater good though! Can't wait for Monday!!!

I am doing homework and working on sewing projects today, cleaning my bedroom, heading to a football party and to a movie with my best friend tomorrow, and getting a pedicure and a facial with my cousin after church on Sunday. Hoping to make the time fly by so Monday gets here quickly!

Hi Ladies and Gents...So I am finally stable enough to be released this morning with some pretty strict instrudtions though. I had my surgery on the 12th in Mexico...which I don't recommend anyone doing. It is now the 23rd and after almost dying two times and some huge problems i am 18lbs down...walking...sipping water...two tablespoons of beef broth and able to tolerate oral medication for the pain nausea and other problems that came up. I am praying for everyone in this journey right now whether you have had your surgery or are still waiting.

It's funny how we know beforehand this is a lifelong choice but low and behold last night I sat in my hospital bed crying because the realization hit me. I know I am ready and even with the horror I went to through to get this is I would do it all over. Thanks to everyone on here who has been so supportive. I appreciate you all.

Welcome to the November group how did your surgery go?

So far, so good. Just learning each day. I'd love to skip the healing process but I know these are the most important for learning purposes.

Eva.. So glad you are doing better and yes it is so scary. I am too thinking about progressing into our new lives.

I was so scared yesterday. Was doing great and then started vomiting everything up including pains meds.

I was admitted back into the hospital today and had to have a second surgery to fix and intestinal stricture. Oh my was it awful. But seem ok now.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
