I used pain pump to help me slep, plus I needed zofran for the nausea

.... Thank God I didn't get a catheter

Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk

Mommy327, I was wondering about the catheter that everyone had in after the surgery. I was told by my doctor that they would put in the catheter after i was "snoozing" and take it out before I fully woke up....so maybe you did actually have a catheter?? If you did...I'm glad you had no idea! LOL! :)

Just found out my pain pump button wasn't working' date=' so the whole time I have been without pain meds and I feel fine. Still just so tired, but was walking the halls at 4am and on way to walk some more. Got gatorade and popsicles down, feeling good, little hesitant about the Jello LOL karmagirl I was nervous as heck too, even told my hubby let's just go home, bc I was scheduled at 8 but Dr had an emergency so it didn't happen until 10. Glad I didn't leave. (((Hugs))) to everyone going today![/quote']

Congrats we did it. I am having jello right now and it tastes so good.

I had the catheter put in will I was "out" yesterday and they removed it this morning. I didn't really bother me just that I felt lots of pressure down there but I was glad to have it because I filled it up like 4 times and so I didn't have to keep getting up to go pee- to much of a hassle and walking is not that easy. Bloating, pressure and some gas pains plus all the wires...

Omg!!! I did it. I had surgery today at noon. I expected the worst and cried some before it because I was so nervous. Right now at 11pm is the most I have been alert and awake. I have been sleeping like crazy and a few hours ago I had some juice and broth which went down ok especially cuz I was hungry and dry throat. I also toke a short walk which was hard because I am super dizzy. The pain was bad at first but has gotten easier and is tolerable. I'm a big baby and for me I was surprised the pain is not bad. Nothing that the meds could not fix. I no longer am scared and I feel good and don't regret this!! Thank God. Now I am finally excited!!! :) Wishing everyone the best.........

Hey Karmagirl, glad you are feeling good and I am also glad that your surgery went well for you. Take care and don't do too much. Shameka

Hi I'm a newbie..I was suppose to have my last surgeon appointment on December 3Rd..I just got a call with approval surgery date is November 28th ...didn't expect this until late December..I'm so excited but very nervous at the same time. Good things like this don't usually happen for me..

Hey Jessica143, my surgery date is November28th as well. I am a bit scared, but prayer works. I believe that we both will be just fine.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
