Honestly, you shouldn't feel bad. You're not the first or the last that cheated on their pre op diet. I know I did. lol. Talk to your dr. He MAY allow you to eat small amounts of food during the day. My best friend was on the two week liquid diet, but her surgeon allowed her to have light salads if needed.

I am 2 years out if my surgery and if I want something bad 2 eat and then after the fact I wish I could thrown it up but due 2 my bypass I can't throw up any more trust u and me there r days that I wish I could. Keep ur head up u can and will do and make it throu this

Just make sure you lose whatever amount of weight your surgeon wants you to. I think everyone cheated on the liquid diet. But tomorrow is a new day. You can do this! It is so much easier after the surgery!

surgeversary 7/24/12, highest weight 267, surgery weight 262, current weight 216

I cheated. The only thing I want to add is don't make yourself vomit. It could cause issues that may result in your surgery having to be postponed. Just keep telling yourself how important this surgery is to you.

I totally understand what your going through I cheated the first and third day of my diet and then after reading other people's story that cheated I decided it wasn't worth canceling my surgery. I am 2 days almost 3 days post op and healing fine. I'm still sore but it's getting better everyday. It's hard when everyone around you can eat but you can't good luck :)

Talk to the professionals that are on your surgery team. That's what they are there for. I don't think there is one person on this forum who is not willing to give you all of the support that we can. But the vast majority of us are not doctors, psychologists, physician assistants and nutritionists. We are not medical professionals with years of education and many more years of experience helping folks just like us - and just like you. You undeniably will not be the first person to ask for their help and you undeniably will not be the last. You are on a journey of lifestyle change. This may well be your first and possibly biggest challenge - find the courage to ask your team for help. You'll be glad you did.

Don't worry you can do this. I was so worry about them finding something that I didn't cheat.

Stay strong. You can do this!

DL is right though. You're surgeon is there to help. I know for me I started counseling prior to starting the process and all during it because I knew I had to work on the head hunger and reasons I ate in the first place. It sure has helped! Lots of good books on it as well.

Keep up the good work. I know it can be tough, really tough, but try and look at the big picture and what your end goal is you're working for. We are all here for you, this is an absolute no judgement zone!!!

Lol I know I cheated, I kept thinking of that one food I wouldn't get to have again, and of course the Chinese buffet!!!!!! But now it's been 3 years and I still never even feel hungry! Just don't make your self through up close to your surgery, it stresses the stomach big time, your better off to just finish what your eating and beat your self up with the guilt... Keep you head high you'll be fine!
