Banded Bikers II

Recommended Posts

Karen, sounds to me like you are on your way. When you mentioned that you are going to try an egg....that is one of the few things that my wife absolutely can NOT eat. They get stuck. But then again, you haven't had any fills yet....waaahaaaahaaaa (evil laugh) Enjoy, but remember, your job right now is to heal, not lose. And I hope this crappy weather we're having doesn't come your way. It has rained here just about all day.

It's been a while since the sun has been that intense and the weather this warm. Going to be great weather for the 500 today down in Daytona as well!

Hey Randy! So far so good with the egg. Have had it for Breakfast both yesterday and today. Was a little tight today but it went down well. Actually most everything is going down well right now thankfully. Last night for dinner we went to a BBQ place, I had a grilled chicken filet (probably about 5 ozs) with BBQ Sauce just to help moisten it up a bit, about 3/4 of a sweet potato and some green Beans. I know that will change when I get my first fill. I guess everytime you get a fill you sort of have to re-figure out what will work and what won't huh?

Looks like we are going to get some weather tonight and tomorrow before a brief cool down. By Thursday temps are supposed to be back up into the mid 70's again. God I love Florida.

I HAVE A DATE!!

I'll be going in for my band on March 18th!

Perfect timing....the shop "Cabin Fever Ride" is March 17th, so something to keep my mind off of it the day before!

I'm really happy with the timing, I'm *guessing* that by late May, early June when riding season is in full swing here, I'll be feeling pretty good and able to ride.....................

and by the end of the summer, I'll be buying a pair of chaps that do not require the hide of an entire cow!!

HarleyGirl, that's great! Good for you! And I'll bet it won't take you that long to get "back in the saddle." Good luck with your "ride."

Have to share my great day. Rode today, weather's mid 70's and riding in shirt sleeves. Even have my first sunburn for the year. Got home and had a bright orange envelope in the mail from HOG that said 'open immediately'. And the letter said "congratulations..you're the first place winner in the Most Adventurous category for the 2007 Ladies Of Harley Motorcycle Memories contest' $200 gift certificate enclosed, plaque will be sent later and my name will be listed with the winners in the May/June HOG tales magazine. How fun is that? I'm thrilled! I wrote about my trip to Sturgis and getting my road name. It was a really great way to finish a ride day.

I hope everyone is well.

Peace and ride safe

ok 3 days till i go to Florida..mmmmmmmmmmmm...cant wait.

We just had a cold front come through and it's going to be a bit chilly for several days but then it's supposed to warm up nicely and stay nice with the exception of next Tuesday. Otherwise, high's in the 70's and lows in the 50's. Can't ask for much better than that!! I'll definitely be in Daytona on Tuesday for the women's MDA ride lead by Karen Davidson. Then again the following Friday for our HOG chapter pin stop ride. Then probably again that Saturday to meet up with my ex-husband to show him my bike. Will probably get some other days in between. It's nice to only be about an hour away!

Have fun!!! How long are you going to be here for?

Thanks Ladies! I was really excited..still am for that matter. I'm not sure if I'll get the story in the magazine. I think they only put in the Grand Prize winner but they might have them on the HOG web site. We'll have to wait and see, but my name will definately be there. Can't wait to get my plaque. I think I might have a patch made too just to have it on my vest. "1st place Most Adventurous LOH 2007'. Hmm...might be one huge ass patch...lol

So happy for ya'll getting to go to Daytona! I'm hoping to add that to my to do list for next year. The big ride this year will be the 'ride home' for the 105th party in August. Hey, maybe I'll go for another category in the LOH contest this year...teehee

Peace to all and ride safe!

:)

Carol, congratulations! We were back down your way over the weekend, but we didn't call. I figured you would be out riding and leading and no where near Floresville. The whole time we were gone from home the weather was great (so I was told) and the day we got home it clouded up and today it has been raining like a b*tch. AND getting colder....dang I wish spring would hurry up and get here. A/C one day and the heater the next. And don't forget daylight savings time starts this coming weekend.

Thanks Randy! If anyone wants to read the story it's in our Chapter newsletter this month. We're not locked down yet so you can get there by going to CalienteHarley.com. On the left side is a link to our HOG Chapter website and then look for the newsletter.

Yeah we were definately out this weekend. We had the Chapter ride to Tarpley and around Hill Country on Saturday. Then on Sunday we were out shopping for a place for the Chapter picnic. Found one that should work nicely. We haven't had rain but man the wind has been whipping it up down here. It's supposed to be sunny today and tomorrow though.

Say Hi to Joy for me!

Peace to all and ride safe!! :rolleyes2:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
