Feeling Guilty, Beating Myself Up

Recommended Posts

Today I ate two carne asada tacos and they were big! I only ate one tortilla on one of them (they come wrapped in two) and I ate the meat out of the other. I literally felt like I was going to burst! I was in so much pain afterwards I honestly thought about making myself throw up.

I hope I haven't done any permanent stretching to my pouch.

This is the number one fear I have, I am a self described food addict and have very little will power ESPECIALLY when I know I "can't" have something, I did the same stupid thing last week and ended up I the ER with a pulled muscle from puking which I turn upset my healing incisions, the only real advice I can give is to cut the portion down, even if you do want/need to eat the whole item, cut it into several small portions and jus snack on it over a couple hours. I HATe the idea of havin gone through all this pain and suffering JUST to undo it with weakness to food :(

Good luck lady !

Ok first of all you have to stop the guilt it happen it's over now move on. Tomorrow is another day. Don't backslide and fall into bad habits. You made a mistake don't let it tear away all you worked for. Wake up tomorrow and make good healthy choices. Leave behind the negative and remember why you chose this.

Thanks ladies! I am over it. I screwed up and I admitted it. Today is a new day and a new opportunity to better myself. Thanks for responding to my confession, slapping me in the face and shaking me by my shoulders...I mean that in a good way of course :-)

Don't know what I'd do without the support and advice from this board!

I wouldn't worry too much about stretching your pouch. It takes a lot more than one meal. It's not only OK, but important to allow yourself to have an occasional day where you indulge yourself (although not to the "bursting" point LOL). Remember the Prime Directive - your lifestyle changes have to be sustainable. Set the bar too high and you're setting yourself up to fail. An occasional indulgence is part of life and perhaps more importantly, part of living your life as opposed to just going through the motions.

punk.rock.mama - I don't have the slightest doubt that you have the very best of intentions. But what you're describing is "stacking" (aka "grazing") and that is a really bad idea. The goal is to finish every meal in roughly 20-30 minutes. Never eat less than two hours or more than four hours apart. You're gonna love the new you!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
