I Finally Got My Surgery Date After 5 Months!

My dietician called me out of nowhere and said that she pleaded my case to the surgeon to go ahead with my surgery without any further appointments because I am so healthy and young and don't have anything medically wrong with me. She said I would be getting the call from the surgeons office within a week or so, and I unexpectedly got the call that same day. I just went in and met with the surgeon last Thursday and it went very well. My surgery is scheduled for september 24th (two days before my 23rd bday). But I do have to get a scope done before and hope to god nothing is wrong that'll delay surgery. I am soo excited! One thing that I found very odd was that the surgeon doesn't think the gastric bypass (rny) is the right surgery for me...she thinks I should have the vertical sleeve gastrectomy done. She seems to think that because I am so young and don't have diabetes that there is no reason to do re-routing. I was more confused than ever. I was under the impression that the sleeve was for people 400 pounds or more so I never even looked into it....now I don't know what to do. Is there anyone out there that has had the sleeve done? I have to know my decision by this coming week. So I guess im super excited but also a little stressed about having to make such a major decision in such a short period of time.
