Thanks so much for the support and nice comments everyone! It means a lot. I am waiting to find out from my insurance....I called them and they told me it covers the same way as it does for the rny but Im waiting to actually make sure the letter of approval goes through. The lady that deals with all the insurance stuff at my drs. Office said she hasn't ever had a problem with blue cross covering it ...so hopefully it does. Or I will def. Be back to RNY bc I know it covers that for sure lol. Yeah my doctor said bc im in such great health for being overweight she didn't see the need in the re routing. And I don't have diabetes so I don't need it bc of that. So hopefully everthing goes smoothly. thanks again

So...I didn't change my mind about surgery, I am still having it. I have just decided to have the Sleeve done instead. I have wanted rny this whole time until I met with my doctor and she told me more about the sleeve. I was under the impression it was only for very very obese people and I didn't qualify for it. Come to find out it is actually going to be a little better for me because I am so young and there's no reason really to re route my itestines is what my dr. Says. I've done a ton of research on it and have decided that for me that is the best route to go. Unless of course for some reason my insurance wont approve it...let's hope that doesn't happen...but I just wanted to say thank u to everyone that has helped me on here and gave me advice and support, it means alot! I will be leaving this forum in a few days. Its just a lot to keep up with two. I hope everyone continues to have an amazing journey! take care.

Hey everyone! I got great news. They said the levels weren't high enough to be concerned about. So the surgery is still on and I start my Meal Replacement stuff called new direction on august 28th. Im so excited!! Thanks sooo much for all the prayers! They really did work. It means alot to me.

At my doctors office they require you to do 4 nicotine tests ...1 per month for 4 months if u were a smoker in the past. I just got my 4th nicotine test back and failed it. I was shocked. I couldn't imagine what had happend. Come to find out they failed to tell me to stay away from people who smoke because second hand smoke can show up on a test. 4 days before the test I was at a bachelorette party which was at a casino filled with smoke and our hotel room was a smoking room and almost every person was a smoker except me. I typed up a letter to the surgeon and faxed it to her explaning how I think this happend and that I do smoke. I already got my surgery date and if she decides to not trust me on what I am telling her about this test then my surgery will be pushed back. I don't know how to handle this....im sooo close and now this happends. Im a little upset with them because how can they expect me to not be around any single person who smokes without telling me that I shouldn't be....and besides that ..my husband is a smoker so its always on his clothing. Uhh...its just been a bad day. So if anyone could plz pray for me that my dr. Will decide to go ahead with the surgery...that'd be awesome. Thanks everyone.

Today I had 3 appointments... one with the pyscologist, one with the dietician and one with the exercise specialist. I got clearances from the pyscologist and from the exercise specialist ...I have one more appointment with the dietician and should be all cleared to meet with the surgeon and schedule surgery. At the place I go to they make you do 4 weeks of meal replacement products to lose some weight pre op. So before surgery ill have to get that done. But its looking like its going to be in august now and we had thought september or october before. Im really excited to possibly have it moved up...although it seems like everytime I go in the possible month it will be happening changes. But that's ok as long as im a step closer to doing it. I went to a support group tonight which really got my motivation boosted back up. Im glad I have that option to go. I also learned that in september they are doing a walk for obesity at a local zoo and it raises money for people that cannot afford this procedure but need it done bad. So im going to be doing that. I just wanted to share with everyone how happy I am with how today went!! I can't wait to start this new life!

If there is anyone from Michigan on this site I would like to share a piece of information with you. On september 22nd there will be a walk for Obesity at potters park zoo in Lansing MI. There is a registration fee but I am not sure how much yet and what time it starts. If anyone that lives close to lansing would like to come please private message me and I can get you more info when I know. This walk for obesity actually gives the proceeds to patients who are overweight and don't have insurance and cannot afford the surgery. Its amazing what they are doing!

Awesome story! It sounds just like me lol. I've done the weight watchers and gym numerous times and would go for a while then get discouraged then quit because of money problems. Its soo hard! Why does being healthy have to be so darn exspensive!? It drives me nuts. Goodluck with everything!

Thanks everyone for the support. He just found out the other day that quite a few people are being let go but he's not one of them. Thank god! Their work will continue to be slow for the next 2 or 3 months probably but its better than being let go for good. I just keep telling him to hang in there and be happy he has a job because alot of people don't. I just gotta keep praying.

This is my first time ever eating greek yogurt and im eating the chobani low fat strawberry bannana one. I decided to switch to these because of the Protein. I just opened it up...can someone tell me ..is it suppose to have brown stuff in the bottom of it and seem kind of thick and cream cheesy? I asked one of my employees that eats really healthy and he said he thought it was fruit but im scared to eat it lol. If someone knows out there what it should look like and let me know that'd be great!

Yeah I agree! I've went on walks with the girl before and it kind of makes me mad bc I don't want my daughter around it...its frustrating. Right now im sick with a chest cold and it has been hard to breathe and it kind of reminds me of when I was a smoker and it sucks...I feel like s***! And don't ever wanna feel like that again. Mu husband has been on the patch for 3 months but has cheated a few times ...I just hope he can stick with it and stay quit for good. He's almost 25 and has been smoking since he was 14 or 15.

I had an appointment today and found out I passed my nicotine test! Im done smoking but was a little concerned about the one cigarette that I smoked on saint pattys Day. However I do still have to do 3 more months of nicotine tests because its so easy to fall back into.
The good news I did receive is that all my blood work came back great! My colesteral (sp) is good, my blood sugar was a tad bit high but nothing to be to concerned about and my Vitamin levels were all good accept I need a tiny bit more Vitamin D. They told me I am a great candidate for this surgery because I am young and have no health issues. I take a Water pill and that is all. I am so glad to hear this.
I found out I can skip the sleep study and any special clearances because of not having any health issues so they are thinking my surgery date can be moved back up a couple months....not sure until we get closer to august. But im choosing to be optimistic. I've been getting 3 to 4 appointments done in one day so I can move things along.
Anyways, I just wanted to share that with everyone! Todays appointment definitely got me motivated again. I went home and decided to go walk a couple miles with my mom and daughter!
