New To The Process....but Optimistic:)

Hello Everyone,

My name is CamyMarie and I am 22 years old. I have just begun the journey to get approval for weight loss surgery. So far I have only completed the Introductory Seminar and all the paperwork. The particular program that my pcp sent me to is very busy this time of year so they told me it would be a 4-6 week wait until I can see the surgeon. And I have no idea who my surgeon will be. So in that time I have become so anxious and nervous as I have soooooo many questions in my head about RNY. By the way I have UHC insurance. I am joining this forum because I see just how supportive everyone is of one another and I would love to be apart of that. I have struggled with my weight my entire life and I am ready to bring on PERMANENT changes into my life. I would love ro hear back from others who have had the surgery about their approval process (particularly those with UHC, United Healthcare, or any others please feel free to chime in as well. Also if you are just beginning your journey like me, I would love for us to be able to support each other. I am excited to be here:)

Welcome to the family - you're gonna love the new you!!

Thank you....i think i will too...just cannot wait to get there:)

Yay! Congrats on ur approval and surgery date. If you do not mind me asking....are you having your surgery done at Alta Bates Summit Medical in Oakland? The reason I ask is because that is where I am trying to get my surgery done and if that is where you just got approved I would love to know if the surgeon's office was efficient in helping you:)

Yes I'm having surgery at alta bates summit and the patient navigator is great and it took 2 days to get approved

Wow! Seems like yesterday! I do have some advice while you are waiting. Try to eat a diet similar to post surgery so you can wrap your head around it! Just be patient! Also with doctors approval start xercising even if you just walk 3 times a dat for 10 minutes.
