  2. Hey guys, I have a question for those of you that have made it past the Psychological Evaluation. When it was time to do the Psychological Evaluation did you have to see the Psychologist once or more than once? Also, did insurance cover the visit or visits? The reason I ask is because I spoke with a psychologist this morning who said it would take four visits for her to do her recommendation for me to have wls and then an extra hour to write the actual letter and she also said that insurance would most likely cover the visits but that she charges $140.00 for the hour to write the recommendation and that I would be responsible for that. Does what she said sound right to you all? I am pretty confused. By the way my ins. Is United Healthcare:)

    Psychological Evaluation?

I see what ur saying....I am just wondering is it possible to find a psychologist that is in network and the hospital and insurance accept that? Or do we have to use the physicians our surgeon guides us to?

  6. Hello Everyone, My name is CamyMarie and I am 22 years old. I have just begun the journey to get approval for weight loss surgery. So far I have only completed the Introductory Seminar and all the paperwork. The particular program that my pcp sent me to is very busy this time of year so they told me it would be a 4-6 week wait until I can see the surgeon. And I have no idea who my surgeon will be. So in that time I have become so anxious and nervous as I have soooooo many questions in my head about RNY. By the way I have UHC insurance. I am joining this forum because I see just how supportive everyone is of one another and I would love to be apart of that. I have struggled with my weight my entire life and I am ready to bring on PERMANENT changes into my life. I would love ro hear back from others who have had the surgery about their approval process (particularly those with UHC, United Healthcare, or any others please feel free to chime in as well. Also if you are just beginning your journey like me, I would love for us to be able to support each other. I am excited to be here:)
  7. Thank you....i think i will too...just cannot wait to get there:)
  8. I definitely will:)
  9. I know you will do AWESOME....its your time to shine!
  10. @love always.....I have contacted my insurance to find out the requirements and they said all I needed was to have the surgeon write a letter of medical necessity for me to have the surgery and I have to do a Psych consult and a Nutrition Consult. I am currently working with the surgeon's office to get the requirements out of the way. According to my insurance they said they would pay for any of the wls the surgeon performs. I am also really excited to see someone in their twenties start this journey as well. I am really hoping for a surgery date by December as well. I would loooooooove to start the new year with my new weight loss tool. Keep me updated on your progress towards approval:)
  11. Wow! Congrats on ur approval and surgery date. It must feel really good to be able to start this next chapter in your life. Thank you for responding to my message. Good luck on your surgery:)
