On My Way Home !

Surgery was yesterday at 11 am. Went great ! I'm on my way home now. Drinking has been no problem at all. The larger of the incisions is a little uncomfortable understandably so. I'm so excited that I HAVE started my new life path.

Doing good today. Drinking is going good just water right now ...going to try protein shakes tomorrow. Anyone heard how Mami is doing?

I went home today and I'm so sore. Has anyone weighed more right after surgery. I got on the scale today and it showed I was 10 ponds heavier :( I really hope that I feel better soon because my Husband will be home from deployment in 2 weeks!!!!

Thats all the IV fluids they pump into you...it will go down.

Hi Armywife! I had my surgery May 30th and was very swollen in my belly. Luckily a friend had warned me this would happen..she had her surgery in August. She told me not to step on the scales until my 2 week preop appt..she said she gained 17 pounds after surgery and her doctor told her it was from the anesthesia process and the bruising swelling. I was very sore the first day home which was yesterday but mostly because I didn't keep up on my pain meds! Now I know better ...I talked with the nurse yesterday and she said pain control is very important..also the walking helps get the gas moving around so it can be released. Hang in there, you will be much better by the time your husband is home. Also I have heard the 3rd day is the worst. How are you doing with your water?

Congratulations I had surgery sameday. I'm swollen & my right hand finally went down it looked like a foot ball. I can wear my jewelry again :) well I'm in no hurry to see how much I lost. I feel a little under the weather but it will pass

Hey Mami! Glad to hear from you! Sorrynaboutnthe swelling but glad it is better. When did you get home? Today is the best day by far for me. I'm having trouble drinking the Protein shakes ...so heavy . I'm going to try some Soup broth that has protein in it today and see how that goes. Can you believe we did it?!!
