No Diet Before?

So the nutritionist told me that they do not require the 2 week pre op liquid diet because they feel that their patients get burnt out since we have the Protein shakes for two weeks afterwards then move to soft foods like yogurt and stuff. I'm feeling for those of you who have to do that!

Of course this doesn't mean I get to eat whatever up until the surgery. They want me trying different shakes and I've found I enjoy the myoplex. They told me to stop the caffeine, sugar and such so I'm steady working towards that.

I only have to do the full liquids diet the day before surgery which is today!!! My surgery is on Monday!! I was so glad I didn't have the pre-op liquid diet either. It would be extremely hard. I did prepare some pureed meats and freeze them in ice trays so they will be ready to go when I get home. Can't say they looked so great but the taste wasn't horrible!! Good luck to you!!

I wish i wasn't in the middle of my two week liquid diet before surgery.....feeding the family and sitting at the table with my shake sucks can't wait till the 31...at least after surgery i can look forward right now the 31 seems so far away
