Just Started On Soft Foods

I am a little over 3 weeks post-op. Just started on some soft foods & really having a hard time. Feels like I have a big knot in my chest & hurts to drink anything. I am ready to go back to liquids! Tried to eat 1/2 scrambled egg today & it was horrible! Also have not had a BM for a week & have gained a couple of pounds. Should I be worried?

Good news is that I fit into a pair of jeans that I bought a year ago & could never wear!

It sounds like your not chewing enough. As far as the bowel movement you might need more water or liquids. Good luck. Monday I will be three weeks post op. So at I am doing great. I haven't had any food or drink issues. I know I'm not getting all of my liquids and protein in but I'm trying very hard.

Me either Berniece. Can't seem to get it all in, just doing the best I canl. I wish I had constipation issues. Boy howdy! When I have to go it's right now and get out of the way. Mosdtly water ( not to be indelicate) it makes it a little hard to get things accomplished.

I am kinda in the same boat as you. I had not even a quarter of an egg white omelette yesterday with just cheese and a little bit of ham. I chewed it super well but I got that knot also. I have heard this from others as well and that does get better. As for liquids are you drinking 30 min before or after the food because I was told this causes issues. I think it's just getting to know our new stomachs.
