  1. Hit another goal this Friday! Made it under 190 lbs! Presurgery weight: 273, surgery day: 250.2, current weight: 187
  2. Yesterday I ran the Warrior Dash in Hugo, MN! 5k run through a horse farm with obstacles! Jumping walls, crawled under barb wire, muddy trenches, up a cargo net, jumped over fire, & through a mud pit at the end! So much fun & I never imagined myself being able to physically do something like this! The inspiration, motivation & support on this site truly makes all the diffetence in the world! Set your goals everyone & go for them! You can do it!!!

  4. Hi lidia! Thanks! I ran about 3/4 of the 5k and just did the Warrior Dash 5k yesterday. I am down about 85 lbs so far...about 30 to go!
  5. Ok, before picture: 10/10/11-273 lbs. Hate this picture!!! After pictures: 5k run 2 weeks ago & at the MN State Fair last Sunday. Wow! That was interesting not being able to eat much at the Fair! Surgery date 4/18/12. Come on Dave!!!
  6. Wow! That is great news! Good job!
  7. Unbelievable! Keep going!
  8. I'll have to try those. I like the Pure Protein bars...sound similar too.
  9. Looking fantastic!!!
  10. Ok, found a post on how to post pictures! So here I am yesterday at the 5k!
  11. Thanks! I trained using an app called "Couch to 5k" and I run with a local group here in MN called Mom's on the Run. Really helps to have friends to run with!
  12. Ok, guess I can't figure out how to post a picture!
  13. Did it and finished right about where I wanted to time wise! Can't wait for the next one! Picture is of me this morning...80 lbs down since surgery!
  14. I am four months out & feeling the same. I have days where I just can't eat anything & other days where I feel like I am eating too much. Not sure why that is, but those days where I feel like I eat too much scares me too.
  15. Just does not seem worth it to me. Believe me, I enjoyed my wine before surgery. But I have worked too to get to this point & I am not tempted one bit. It is just liquid calories & my buzz right now is how great I feel.
  16. Looks like you have a great plan Paul. No excuses! You can do it!
  17. Great job! I shopped in the Juniors section the other day looking for cute jeans. I bought a pair & I am about 10 lbs from wearing them. Incentive to keep on going! Down 80 and still want to lose 30-40 more.
  18. I have shrunk a little over an inch in height too! I am 42...didn't think that happened until later!
  19. You all can do it! Keep pushing! I ran 1.35 miles last night without stopping in 17 minutes! Never ever did I think I could get this far! I am signed up for three 5k races between Aug & Sept and that keeps me motivated!
  20. I use the Couch to 5K app too. I am signed up for two 5k's and the Warrior Dash. It is good to sign up for them...keeps you motivated! I never thought I would make it running more than 2 minutes & now I am running 15 minute intervals!
  21. Thanks everyone! I can't tell you how much this social app has helped me along my journey. Lots of great ideas, motivation & support from you all. With all of the complications that others have had, I feel so blessed to not have experienced any of that. No second thoughts about surgery & no turning back!
  22. I like muscle milk shakes, cottage cheese, baked beans, moist chicken & cheese as protein sources. Sometimes for lunch I will have a slice of deli turkey and a thin slice of cheese with tomato...kind of an open faced sandwich without the bread.
