  1. Oh no! I did the ice cream thing too. I had about 1/8 of a cup and that was all it took. Just listen to your body & try the portion controls. I am able to eat almost anything too, but I need to remind myself that eating bad got me to this place to begin with. I concentrate on my protein first then fruits & veg.
  2. So glad you are able to go home & continue your weight loss journey! Continued prayers for you!
  3. You look incredible!!! Keep up the great work!
  4. So exciting! There is nothing like people seeing the new you & how excited they are for you!
  5. Officially under 200 lbs! Almost 75 lbs down in 4 months! I am loving my new life eating healthy, running, and being so much more active. Hoping to lose another 30-40 lbs!
  6. So I am wondering what you tell people when they ask you what you are doing to lose weight? There are my close friends that I told about the surgery but it is my other friends and acquaintances that I have run into almost 4 months after surgery that I don't know whether to just come out & announce that I had surgery or not. I don't want to deceive anyone and I try to just play it off, but when they really start digging for information I feel like I have to admit to surgery. And then if I do admit to it I feel like some people are really turned off while others are very supportive. Finally, I feel like I have to explain all the reasons that I had the surgery. So many people comment that they didn't think that i would have ever qualified for surgery in the first place but what they don't understand are the health problems I was experiencing and how much healthier I am now 70 lbs lighter and still losing. Sorry for the novel....Thoughts?
  7. Congrats! Feels good huh? I have found myself overwhelmed with how much I have to choose from for clothes now! No more plus size section for me!
  8. My girls were 8(now 9) and 13 when I told them. I spun it as a positive & how much healthier I would be. My 8 year old had no problem with it. My 13 year old was a basket case! She did not want me to change....she thought it would be an immediate change like when my husband had lasix and no longer wore glasses. But now she tells me everyday how proud of me she is & that I did the right thing. I think it just really depends on the child, their age, and how much they understand. Good luck to you!
  9. Go girl! You look awesome! I started wearing a swimsuit again this summer...never thought i would get back to being comfortable in one again. Don't know if I could ever do a bikini!!!
  10. I am so excited! Tonight I ran 6 minutes straight for the first time! That may not seem like much, but I never thought I would make it past 1 minute! I am just loving getting fit again & it feels so good to reach these little milestones! Get out there everyone & excercise your butt off!
  11. Great job! I am sooooo close! 7 lbs to get to ONEderland!!!
  12. Hi from Minnesota!!!

  17. I have lots of mostly 18-22, some 24's. 3X, 2X. I live in Hugo, MN if anyone is close by and in need. I was told to get rid of them. No turning back!

Glad to see this thread! I was wondering about my weird cycles too! Before surgery I got my cycle about 3-4 times a year which was part of my infertility problem. I had two daughters using infertility drugs. Since surgery (12 weeks out), I have had 2 periods but feeling symptoms constantly. I have not been on birth control for 20 years because my husband and I both had infertility issues but now I am wondering if I should go on something? Really do not want to get pregnant within the 2 years and definitely not after that. I'm done with kids at 42!
  19. You will do great! Just remember why you are doing this...a healthier you! See you in the post-op chat room!
  20. I have days that I feel like I have no problems eating & other days that it is a struggle to eat anything. Meat is still really hard for me so I rely on other protein types. Amazingly I have no desire for sweets and that was always my downfall...and I bake & decorate cakes!
  21. I like Muscle Milk light & the Pure Protein bars. I so one a day of each.
  22. Love pickle dogs! Take a piece of Lunchmeat (I use ham or corned beef), spread on fat free cream cheese, wrap it around a large whole pickle & then cut into slices. Yum!!!
  23. What is everyone doing for a multi vitamin & I am wondering if anyone has tried the swallowable pills from Bariatric Advantage? I have tried so many chewables & liquids and they are so nasty! Warning!!!! Do not buy the multivitamin from Vitamin World called "Origin of Life". Made me throw up!!! $30 wasted!
