You can do it just keep telling yourself if you don't follow through you'll ruin your surgery!!

OMG. Day two of liquid pre op. this is so hard. I'm not going to give in but damn. Just walked to mailbox and neighbor is grilling up some steaks.

Omg!! Imagine if you were cooking it for the family like me. So sad :(

Can't I reschedule my date(23rd). Just kidding. Your right if I had to cook for people it would be extremely difficult, your stronger than me. I told all the friends not to come by and I'm not going anywhere. I'm paid up and ready for a healthy life. Having the surgery in Houston at the Davis clinic. Just had last shake of the night put some frozen berries in it. It was good no complaints, now can I make it the rest of the night? I must.

Poker it gets much easier after day 4 . I'm down 17 lbs in 9 days already!! You'll be fine. Keep your eye on the prize!!!

Damn neighbors! Do they not know what you are going through??? JK. Love the smell of grilled food and a shake doesn't compare! Hang in there!

I know it's the pits Poker, I did it just a few weeks ago. Just think of it as one day closer.

Hello poker... How are you feeling? I'm so hungry I gotta do the endoscopy today & I'm not aloud to eat or drink till after test is done. So suffering. Had to make hubby breakfast & cafe. It sucks!

I'm doing better. My problem is at night. A upper scope? I had an upper and lower scope done last year. Yes the worst thing is the fasting with clear liquids but,I think it was for a 24 hr. if you were having both scopes done I'd ask the doc to make sure they don't use the same scope ;). Good luck.

It's only one thing. I was told no eating or drinking at all so now I'm better drank snapple.

The pre-op diet is probably the most difficult part of the whole process for most folks. Just about any kind of exercise wil help curb your appetite. I also focused on keeping busy which makes the time fly by. It's not easy but you absolutely can do it and you'll find lots of support here. My surgeon told me that I had to lose 20 pounds (at least) pre-op - no weight loss, no surgery. Keep reminding yourself that they want to reduce the fat around the liver which reduces its size and makes the surgery much easier. Well worth the effort!!
