I was out of work 8 days. Took 3 days off completely, then worked 5 days from home. I do regret not taking another week because I was so tired! Feel better now after a week back.

Which surgery did you ladies have? I'm having RNY and am wondering what to expect. I work at a desk, but get up, attend meetings, etc. No lifting. They said 6 weeks-but that seems like a long time for this busy girl. My hubby had the RNY in 2010 , (looks great I have to say) & he said he could have gone back after 2-3 weeks...but, men can be stubborn and he was a bad boy about getting in the protein and water. :( I keep hearing we have to use the 6 weeks to dedicate ourselves to learning how to eat again, which takes a lot of time.

I am 2 weeks post op and I have 4 weeks off. Before surgery I thought that was too much time. But now I am about 70% capacity with my energy. This whole food thing is really confusing and time consuming for me. I have read all the notes from my classes talked to the dietician and surgeon but now that I am in the trenches I can't seem to get a schedule set with the water etc. I am glad I am not At work it would make things worse right now. Plus I don't know what agrees with me and what does not. Don't want to figure that out at work.

I love that weekaversary! Congrats

I was out 3 weeks; prob would have been back after 2 but I ended up with bronchitis so that kept me home for an extra week. I started back to work this past Monday and it feels like I never left.

Everyone heals differently my surgeon said generally 2-6 weeks for most.
