Getting Sleeve on Monday and already struggling with the liquid diet prior to op!

Today is the first day of my liquid diet (48hrs pre op). I'm scheduled for surgery Monday morning (9/30/2013), I'm so thrilled and excited to FINALLY be getting the sleeve. HOWEVER I do not do too well when I'm restricted to eat certain foods...its all mental for me I know...but I need tips or suggestions to help me to satisfy my cravings while on a liquid diet. PLEASE HELP

Wouldn't it be horrible if your doctor fired that first round of staples into your stomach and a small piece of pizza fell out? You're on this liquid diet so your surgery goes on without any self imposed complications. That's what I had to keep telling myself. And use this time to get in as much liquid as possible because in 2 days you're going to be struggling. Set yourself up to win at this now. The liquid diet is going to be your friend for a few weeks. I am on day 18 and I am OVER IT but I also have made myself understand how necessary it is to this whole process. Respect that process. Liquids! You got this.

It's only 48 hours. Suck it up (literally) and just do it. Two weeks is hard, and some have to do it for a month. Hell, you can sleep for two days and get through the one.

:D

It's not a restriction, it's the start of your new life!

Popsicles saved me :)

You guys are right! MIND OVER MATTER! I GOT THIS! TY :)

You can do it! Just remember this part is not a diet, in the last 48 hours you are getting your stomach ready for a major surgery on it!

And right after the surgery? Same thing you are not on a "diet" to lose weight per se but to let that traumatized organ heal.

Good luck to you! :)

Ditto for the Popsicles. They absolutely are a god sent. 15 calories and sugar free too. #winning

You guys are the greatest and thats why I joined this group everyone is so supportive and have great advice.Lesflo you can do it.

You got this! Im on day 6 of mine, oct 7th cant come soon enough!

I start tomorrow. Although, mine isn't TOTALLY liquid, it's still very restrictive.

On day 13 surgery is Monday. After the first 3days or so it's not to bad, I think once the carbs are out of your system the cravings go away.

Keep yourself busy..read a good book, walk, visit friends, stay away from late night tv with all those food commercials, stay away from restaurants, stay away from your kitchen as much as possible . If possible don't cook. You can do this.
