Help! If I loose 8 more lbs on the pre-op diet I will be below a 30 BMI. Can I still have the surgery?

I started at a 32.2 BMI. I'm lost 6 lbs on the pre-op diet and am now at 31.3. If I loose 7 more lbs, I will be at 30. Do you think they will still do the surgery which is scheduled for 9/26/13, this Thursday?

Your insurance have already approved the surgery you have a date, there's no going back. I wouldn't worry about it, but if you pull one of my moves and can't help but to worry, call the bariatric center and see what they say. Good luck to you :)

If you have co morbidities you can have a lower BMI, my guess is that you do otherwise your insurance wouldn't have approved it.

If you were approved aleady, I see no reason why they would reject. Insurance companies understand that surgeons will put patients on pre-op diets to aide with the surgery.

I wouldn't be concerned.
