I'm 7.5 weeks post op. Down about 26 lbs. yep, super slow, I know! here is the deal, I can eat anything (no trouble with any type of food even bread) and a lot compared to others. I can eat a whole cup of food at once! This makes me very worried. I keep track with myfitnesspal and stay between 800-1000 calories per day but i feel like im hungry and eating all day long, granted its small stuff like low fat cheese or sugar free stuff and I need to exercise more but it's just not coming off fast enough for me so I'm getting discouraged. There doesn't seem to be anyone on these boards that are having the same issues. It seems like a miracle surgery for everyone else. It just seems harder for me. I feel like why did I even bother, I could have lost this much without major surgery! Just venting. Want to say F it and go eat a piece of cake, which I know I could and wouldn't even make me sick or full :(. Getting depressed.

You say you can eat a whole cup at once, but why do you eat a full cup at once? Have you tried portioning out to half a cup and than stopping? Are you sticking to 6 meals a day or grazing? Still in the end I would like to point out that in 7.5 weeks that you have lost on average 3.4# a week that is amazing! In 6 months that is 88#.

What exactly are you eating? Protein 1st all the time? I don't have room for anything after I eat my protein. Haven't tried bread yet. It's pretty much empty carb calories. sugar free things can backfire a bit in some people making you crave sugar and carbs.

I eat Protein then veggies then starch. I eat a cup because I'm not full. I eat it slow but that is what I am saying. I do not feel full. My sleeve doesn't work and isn't tight

Maybe increase your Protein so you don't have room for the starch. Also, from what I've read, maybe your aim shouldn't be to be full but just not hungry. I think increasing the protein, it should take longer to digest. The starch, carbs, will make you hungrier sooner. Hope that helps.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
