October Sleevers - Who else

Recommended Posts

Thanks Biglew. I'm an overthinker (paranoid! ) so I didn't ask my doctor many questions. To be honest I would just blank out when he would talk to me.

I just had surgery on Saturday. I'm miles away from home but I am thankful for good friends. How likely are leaks and are they easy to repair? I'm worried about coughing causing a leak. :-/

I would assume too that you would have some signs if your sleeve were to leak- stomach acid in the abdominal cavity I would think would be incredibly painful. Just take little sips and hopefully your doc does leak test as well. Also hopefully your doc staples and sutures.

Well tomorrow the 15th is the big day. I got a cold Friday but have really been popping Vitamins, loads of tea Water and making sure i get my Protein Shakes and rest and I feel much better. Just got medical clearance this morning. I am a bit nervous about the actual surgery but not about having the procedure. I am a bit excited about the thought of being thin and healthy and possibly becoming a runner in the future. I definitely won't miss this person who can't reach her shoes to tie them and is too exhausted to do anything after sitting at a desk at work all day. I am hoping me having this surgery will push my Husband and son to start watching what they eat too and lose some weight as well. I'll see you all on the other side. :)

I'm with you & could have written this myself... Including the husband and son part! Leaving at 7:45, surgery @ 10:00. Where are you having surgery? I'm in Connecticut.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
