  3. I definitely notice people more now and so badly want to tell them about my surgery and how much happier I am but I don't do it for fear I will offend them. I was over weight my whole life and I am happy no one pushed me to get this surgery. I started the process 6-7 years ago to get gastic bypass but chickened out and I had to be ready at my own time.
  4. I definitely am treating myself better now 2 months out. I lost 65lbs and can reach my feet so I use nail polish and put on lotion to try and minimize excess skin if that's possible. I am trying on clothes now and actually happy when I look into the mirror. I still have 100+lbs to lose but I am happy right now.
  5. 9 days since surgery went for follow up appointment yesterday. I lost only 6 lbs which i can't believe it's not more. I am only drinking 2 protein shakes a day under 4oo calories and chicken broth or tomato soup I switch up soups on different days. I was itchy like crazy so too Benadryl and used topical anti itch cream it's finally starting to go away. All I have been dreaming about now is eating canned chicken or sashimi. am dying for real food. I can hold out though only 6 days til puree. I just hope the weight keeps coming off.

  7. Well tomorrow the 15th is the big day. I got a cold Friday but have really been popping vitamins, loads of tea water and making sure i get my protein shakes and rest and I feel much better. Just got medical clearance this morning. I am a bit nervous about the actual surgery but not about having the procedure. I am a bit excited about the thought of being thin and healthy and possibly becoming a runner in the future. I definitely won't miss this person who can't reach her shoes to tie them and is too exhausted to do anything after sitting at a desk at work all day. I am hoping me having this surgery will push my Husband and son to start watching what they eat too and lose some weight as well. I'll see you all on the other side.
  8. I'm in Staten Island and am going to NYU Dr. Kurian on October 15th too. Super excited.
  9. My surgeons office put in the paperwork Monday the 7th 2013 and it has been approved within 4 days. I am so excited. I started at 330 lbs and I have severe sleep apnea no other conditions. So my experience is good with the Insurance. I go Monday for medical clearance letter from my Primary care Physician.
  10. Mine was years and years of losing weight only to gain it back and then some. The chest pains, not being able to tie my sneakers, and premature death. Plus I'm one size away from having to special order my clothing through the mail.
