October Sleevers - Who else

Recommended Posts

Sleeved this past Monday 10/07/13' date=' released yesterday. Moderate discomfort, walking in uncomfortable but a must, love my Percocet, and trying to stay on top of drinking. Kept an extra day for not taking in enough Fluid which I'm finding hard to do. Incisions look great. [/quote']

My sites are in different places- one on each side of my belly button, one teeny one just at my bra line in the center of my upper abdomen where they said the liver retractor was, one to the far left of my abdomen, and my JP drain right next to it. They all have dermabond on them and the JP has steri strips on it they put on yesterday.

I was sleeved Oct.8. Feeling okay...not a lot of pain. I am just so tired right now. I am suppose to return to work on Monday, and right now I don't see how I can do it.

I didn't start feeling normal until at least 5 days out. I'm 9 days out right now and I'm just getting an ok amount of energy back. If you have to take an extra day off work, do it. Or maybe ask for a half day. Take care of yourself first

I had my surgery the 3rd and went back to work the 8th. I should have taken another day because I left early. Past few days I am ok till afternoon then I get real drained. Today I am real tired and weak and stomach bothering me a bit. I can't wait to eat some real food and hopefully get some energy back!

Hello my wonderful Oct Sleevers!!!! My surgery is scheduled for Oct 22 and I'm currently doing my 2wk liquid pre-ops. Can I just tell you I'm 5 days in and this plain SUCKS! I know this is somehting I have to do and is for my own good, but OMG.

Anywho... the first few days (Mon-Wed) I was only able to get 2 shakes down and I had maybe 3 tablespoons of veggies. I needed that chewing motion badly. Please tell me that that is is all normal and that I'm not the only one that this has happened to..?? Thurs was the first day I was able to actually do shakes for Breakfast, lunch and dinner and it looks like today will be another successful day. Other liquids include Water, non-calorie drinks (crystal light), broth and Jello.< /span>

How much weight is expected to be lost..? Ive heard 10-20lbs from my Dr's office. I havent weighed myself, but I feel lighter and my clothes are fitting better.

Thanks for all your input and encouragement!!

Getting my drain out was a big relief, a lot of pressure removed from my stomach. It feels better when it's out, I promise!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
