So...what does YOURS feel like?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering what everyone's full feeling actually felt like. I am about 8 weeks out (sleeved on 6/27) and I don't think I have actually felt full in my stomach yet. After a few bites I feel a fullness in my throat (if that makes sense) and I know that my meal is over. I think up until now, the most I've eaten in one sitting is about 5 bites. Just wondering....what does your full feeling actually feel like?

I am pretty much the same. I feel fullness in my throat more than in my stomach. But usually even before that I just get a sense that I've had enough and want to stop eating. It's not so much physical, more psychological -- hard to explain. My nose also gets runny when I've had enough. I was sleeved on 6/19.

I get a pressure in my lower esophagus, rather uncomfortable. sometimes mixed in with a tiny bit of nausea for good measure. I am a slow learner and constantly surprised how little it takes. I dont feel i have eaten too much at any time but i eat much to fast. When they say take 20 min. i suppose they mean it, not 10 minutes, which by the way is so much slower than normal for the tiny bit of food I eat. but i am getting much better at it since I absolutely hate that full feeling.

I get a knot in my chest, then I get the burps or hiccups. If I eat to quickly I jump straight to hiccups/burps. When I eat slowly I feel the chest first.

Hi I must be abnormal, I don't feel any of that. I can eat a lot a full container of yogurt no problem 3 oz of chicken doable. Not too happy about that. Anyway, when I get to my point my stomach feels thanksgiving full. That's when I know to stop.

I had surgery on 6/15. I can only eat about 2 oz. chicken and a couple of bites of veggie. It takes about 30 - 45 min to eat a container of greek yogurt. When I get really close to full, I hiccup - loudly.

I typically feel restriction. Like I can eat more, but it would be unwise. I guess a pressure in my tummy. Also get the food in my esophagus feeling as well. If I get to that point then I know it's time to stop.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
