Hello Pre-Post Sleevers,

The time has finally come. Like most of you I have done everything you can possibly imagine. I have been in/out of doctor's visits for about a month in a half. I have had tubes, stickers, pins, and needles in me as well. Now I have come down to the last road, I have no more appts. Can you fellow sleevers who used their faith and belief in God to pray that I will have a surgery date in the month of September and that not only the surgery appt will go well but that the surgery will as well. I am so excited and nervous not only for myself but for those who have wanted the surgery fo a very long time. I know how rough the journey can be, and I am so glad I am at the end and there is light at the end of the tunnel. Please also if you have any encouraging words, I will taken them.

Thank You,

OldskoolHeart :D

I know exactly where you are at. I've thought about this for over 10 years although it was bypass then. I kept trying one more diet. I lost weight only to regain it. My husband kept bugging me telling me it was my health. All along I thought it was just because of the way I looked. At the end of last year, we found out that his insurance would cover weight loss surgery. I figured it would be 6 months of dieting blah blah blah. I started that journey believing that only to gain weight on the diets. I was so exasperated! So I decided to go to a surgeon's office and let them help me fight the battle. I went to them in May. I found out that my insurance did NOT require the 6 months dieting & my past diets would count. I've had a few glitches since then. But I am scheduled for August 30th. I have my last surgeon visit & a pre-op class next week. Now I am so excited & yes....nervous. But I keep dreaming of what I will look like and I want to get off the BP MEDS! I'm also excited to do more things & not be a couch potato anymore. I told my husband that I wanted to go on another cruise next year but this time I will enjoy the activities. I finally came to the realization that it was for me and me alone. In fact, my hubby goes on vacation just a few days after I come home but I know I can do it! I do have some other support but he won't be there. So absolutely you are doing the right thing!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
