Hey Jerseyslved I'm using Advanced Laparoscopic' date=' my surgery is scheduled for Sept 19 :)[/quote']

Are you going to Hackensack or jersey city? I was jersey city and wish I had done Hackensack bc they have the floor just for WLS. I didn't feel the nurses were well-versed with what I was going through at jc. Good luck to you!

I drink 2 premier Protein shakes a day which is 60 grams. Then I try to eat Protein every 2-3 hrs. Examples are ricotta cheese' date=' string cheese, beef Jerky, Peanut Butter on apples. I try and fit these in between Breakfast lunch and dinner. I don't always get it all in but I have very physical job and I have been working out hard so I have found the less protein I have the less energy I have[/quote']

You can manage beef Jerky? That must give your jaw quite a workout!

I'm from Orange county NY. Had my sleeve on 8/12. I was on only Clear liquids since surgery until today. Now I'm on Protein shakes until further notice. My weigh in the morning of surgery was 292 and I weighed myself this morning and scale hit 278.5. So far so good and no regrets at all on this end. I have my first Dr visit appointment on Tuesday. Will keep you guys posted.

Congrats on your surgery & you weight loss. I am also from orange county ny. I had Dr. Judd from crystal run in middletown ny. I had my surgery 7/18/13 & have lost 26 lbs since the day i came home. I wish you the best on your journey!!!!

I'm going to Hackensack Hospital. :) I went to the seminar at JCMC and when they said Hackensack has a floor just for WLS I made my decision based on that.

It seemed like the floor at Hackensack was not just for WLS since my roommate was not there for that, however a large group of patients there were WLS and the nurses were very knowledgeable, a nutritionist came in, also a representative from the hospitals support group. I liked them.

Oh I didn't know that, they made it seem as though it was just WLS patients, but it's good to know the nurses were knowledgable :) How long ago did you have your surgery, what surgeon did your surgery and how is your progress going?

I had my surgery 8/12:13 had Dr Schmidt and I am doing great. Feel great. Down 14 lbs. if u are using that group you have to stay on Clear liquids for 2 weeks and it gets rough not gonna lie. I'm not hungry at all just getting a bit tired of the liquids at this point b

Awesome to hear how good you're doing only a little over a week after! Yes my surgeon is Dr. Trivedi. Did you have to do the liquid diet prior to the surgery? I see the nutritionist Sept 5th. What kind of clear liquid diet are you following if you don't mind me asking.

I did not have to do clear diet prior (I went on a cruise instead lol) first two weeks are broth juice gaterade (watered down) tea Water crystal lite. I added Isopure which I hear about here bc I was becoming sluggish. Nutritionist will explain it all

Glad you love Monte! What type of mishap? Are you ok?

I ate my meal then took a sip of juice and yeah I thought this is it! But it seems now I may have dumping syndrome. Cause I can't keep food inside me at all.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
