I've lost 50 preop plus 53 postop as I type this. I agree it's scary, especially to see how much more I have to lose. I recently got involved with the greatest local support group where we do things together and look out for each other and being involved makes a world of difference for me.

I wish we had a support group in out town..But most people are keeping the WLS a secret.....so I try to get what I need from here....It is tough though...One on one is much better for encouraging each other!

I'm 9 weeks out. I started out needing to lose 215 (at my highest). I lost about 29 lbs pre-op. I've lost 41 post-op. I had a fast loss the first 2 weeks and have stalled pretty much since then.

However, my inch loss has been nothing short of amazing. I'm loving how I look both in clothes and without them. You can do this. It seems like a big goal but as you set mini goals, you'll find it a lot less stressful.

I started at 416lbs and really didn't do much of anything special. I had mandatory NUT visits once a month and just started following guidelines she gave us Plus I started walking. In january of this year, i couldn't stand for 10 minutes without breaking into a sweat. NUT said walk 10 minutes every day and I said "I can do that". The first time I tried I had to take 3 breaks and was drenched in sweat. Yesterday and the day before, I did an hour on the treadmill each day. I had to work up to that but it's been so worth it. I will walk a 5K within a few months.

No reason you can't accomplish the same.

I'm thrilled to hear its doable. I started the pre op diet at 410. Today the scale said 384.5. I'm now on puréed food but feel like I could eat a cow. I would love to keep up with you guys over the months to see where we all are.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
