Driving myself crazy! :/

Recommended Posts

I am hooked on watching you tube videos and looking at before and 1 year post op photos. That I think I am driving myself crazy! I had a friend many years ago that had surgery and she gained all her weight back plus more :( I don't want to be like that! That is my biggest fear!!!

I am finally having my surgery on June 27th at 8am. I can't wait it's something I have wanted for so many years! It's just around the corner I can almost touch it with my finger tips. Nut yes still feel so far sway! 19 days and counting!!

But will this really work for me? Am I really going to finally be happy and healthy! Will I finally be able to get married and have a family that i have always wanted!!!?? I think I'm driving myself crazy!!! I'm really obsessed right now!!!!

I did the same thing for a few weeks.. Sometimes we take on more than we need to.. I banned myself from this site for about a week. It gave me time to clear my head and think about something other than my surgery. It really helped. Obviously I'm back now and know that what's meant to be will be. I have all the faith in my surgeon and his team. And I know i never want to be where I am today again.. And I know that determination is enough to keep it from happening.

You mean August 27th? And WOW.. is it really 19 days.. I haven't counted the days yet.. I was just going by the weeks. I start my liquid diet on Tuesday.. I have my EDG on Monday.. How about you?

IT'S YOUR HEAD. It's MY head. It's OUR heads!!!

The sleeve does what the sleeve does, but it does NOT change our heads. I believe (I do not KNOW, but I believe) that people who slide back have lost the head wars, and have found the many ways to 'cheat the sleeve'. Me... I am pissed at what I've let food do to me. I am better than that.

Work on your head and the first corner to turn is to overcome "linging" for your lost love...

This surgery is a tool for you to use and maintain your weight loss....It is not like any other diet or program you have been on...Your sleeve will force you to eat less..And if you keep it that way and eat lots of Protein and then veggies, fruit and limit carbs....You will succeed..

I am not saying that there won't be rough times..Addicted to food is like any other addiction..It will always be in the shadows....

Figure out what brought you to this place in your life and work at it every time it rears its ugly head.....You will succeed.....You have taken the first step and that you should be very proud of!!!!! :)

I'm glad I made them because I can watch then and see how my emotions are progressing. ESP since my day 4 one I think. It was the hardest time and good to know I got past it and its getting more and more worth it :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
