Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

Recommended Posts

Checking in with my report for yesterday.

-Got all of my Protein in (80gm)

-Drank all my Water (64oz)

-Took my Vitamins

-Exercise - 40 min treadmill (2.5miles) and 20 minutes weights working lower body

I'm working on my first glass of Water for today and I'll drink my Protein shake in an hour or so. I plan on going to the gym again tonight and getting there early enough to get a full hour on the treadmill.

Great job everyone! Keep up the good work.

Checking in with my report for Sunday's progress.

- Got all of my Water in

- Got all of my Protein in

- Exercised at the gym (1hr on elipticle machine & 15 min upper body on weights)

I forgot to take my Vitamin & I did eat after 9pm (string cheese)

This morning I weigh 277. I plan on weighing every Monday. But I did weight Saturday for the start of the National Body Challenge, and I was at 281-so there's been some progress. I'll head to the gym again today for more cardio.

Have a great week everyone.

Losingjusme-I hope you're feeling better.

Okiefamily- It is frozen here in Seattle too. Most of the roads are clear, but the side streets (like mine) are a solid sheet of ice. Hopefully things will warm up soon, but I think there's another snow advisory for tomorrow. It's been 5 days and our temps haven't creeped above freezing level yet. I used to do the 'Walk Away the Pounds' video and I really liked it, yes it does feel a bit weird walking in place, but it's a good workout. My copy was a DVD and it is so badly scratched that it won't play on my very sensitive DVD player. One goal for today is to go buy another as a backup when I can't walk outside or get to the gym.

I admit it. I hate the Water worst of all!!:phanvan I am exercising and trying to be sooooo gooooood w/my eating. I only drank 20oz of Water on Sat/Sun. I tried adding the crystal light ect, but does that count as plain water?? I need a kick in the butt w/your boot Sarge Teresita!!:cry

Turner....the crystal light totally counts for Water consumption. I have no trouble with my Water these days but that's because I'm addicted to crushed ice...lol.

My weekend went great though I stayed the same weight wise. I've been getting all my water in and doing really well on the eating....just trying to set up a membership at a leisure center so that I can get on the exercising part....you guys all seem to be doing great on that aspect.

Keep up the hard work!!

Here's my update for today.....

- Drank all my Water (it's 10:36pm and I'm finishing up now)

- Exercise 1 hr elliptical machine 20 mins lower body weights 10 min abs

I went to Target and forgot to buy a new Walk Away the Pounds DVD

I forgot my Vitamin (until now-so I'm taking it :P )

I had not such a great day with food.

Breakfast: 3 pieces turkey bacon

Lunch: a few bites of a very very dry burger

some fries dipped in ranch and consumed one at a time in small bites chewed very well as to not get stuck

and a Dr. Pepper to top it off

No dinner. I was busy. Fed the family first then wanted to rush off to the gym. Not a healthy choice. I'm drinking some Protein now because I know I need something in my system. Tomorrow I will try to eat a healthier, more balanced diet. I know that it's not healthy to skip meals-it really was an oversight cuz I was so busy (and not very hungry).

WOW the weekend is over and I just wanted to respond to everyone. Okiefamily you are wonderful for keep up the moral of the troops while I was away. We all have to support each other!!!

Turner 24 great job on the Friday lunch, baggy jeans and the treadmill. LOL You are batting a thousand. Keep this up and you will have your goals in your back pocket and running up hills carry me on your back.

Gotta get that Water in, it flushes the fat out of the fat cells. Walmart has their own brand of crystal light tubes. They are cheap and I love them. The raspberry ice and grape are wonderful for under $2. I put it in the blender with ice and Water when I am at home other times I just add it to my bottle of water. It does count as water so keep on chugging. You don’t need a kick you just need some water. LOL

Losingjusme great job on the water and your work out. Keep moving that body!!!!! Great Job!!!

I hope you are feeling better and kudos on the kickboxing even though you were not feeling 100%.

Josette your enthusiasm is wonderful. How did you do on the treadmill and bike. Us ladies with long limbs gotta keep them strong. Don’t let chocolate drive you crazy. Believe it or not hot chocolate can subdue that craving. We should have a weigh in but first we need to get our lifestyle changes on track without that added distraction. Everyone is welcome to post whatever they want but right now I want the dedication to original contract. Josette I want to see your numbers ASAP!!!! LOL

Josette I see exercising was done and going to the store does count.

Okiefamily family time is great and cashews taste great but try raw almonds and walnuts next time they have more nutrients. Seeing that you did take in those unconscious 2000 calories I should not see And I didn't get any exercise. Kick up a notch sister if you want that 2.4 turn into 5!!!!!!

Redemption is yours, I see exercise videos, water, Protein and 1000 calories WOOOOHOOOO that’s what I’m talking about. GREAT JOB!!!!!

Mysa WOOOOHOOOOOO Welcome Aboard and Congratulations on the bundle of joy. I am happy to hear you know what you have been doing wrong and the commitment to making the necessary changes to get the body your want. Glad to have you.

WOW that is commitment you jumped right in and doing it all. You are well on your way. Walk Away the Pounds Tapes are great, I started them before surgery and they walk. It just goes to show you movement is key. Walk in place anytime of the day and burn a few extra calories.

Reeizbooje Welcome Aboard!!! You are off to a running start with the gym, walking and swimming, just stick with it. It will be so worth it come Spring and Summer.

Time2live great job on the water and eating. Are you getting in any exercise? Moving your body is going to get you were you want to be faster.

Kareyquilts nice to meet you and Welcome Aboard!!!! Soooooo how’s your water intake?

Welcome Again People, I'm sure that each one of you have read the commitment agreement and have signed it so that you can begin the new you. Again no excuses will be tolerated!!!!!!

NO EXCUSES

Excuses are tools of the incompetent, building bridges to nowhere and monuments of nothing and those who use them seldomly amount to anything.

For me I had a great weekend

Friday Gym

Saturday Gym

Sunday 3.2 mile walk

Monday 6.4 mile walk and went back for more leisurly stroll at the Lincoln Memorial with hips hurting.

Feeling pretty good about weigh in tonight. I took out some goal jeans and tried them on I was able to get into some my old no stretch 32's back in October but now they are loose and no pulling needing to zip them. I tried on the 30's I can not get them up over my thighs and hips and now have about 5 inches to be able to close them. I will be in them by July.

It's a cold frigid morning here in Missouri but I will get my exercise in. I have been fighting a nasty cold but finally feel up to getting my butt moving. I will do my cardio dance video at the least this evening. It is quite a sight to behold believe me! :)

I am not currently able to eat too much because I think they got me too full at my last fill so until it is safe to travel to my doctor, I will have to manage. So today I will continue my diet of mostly liquids. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

One more to add to the banana bunch. Avilla it took you long enough. I see you are not eating anything. You need fuel for the engine to run and the right kind of fuel. You can't put diesel fuel in a SUV that requires unleaded. Hello People we have to look at the nutritional value of what we are eating not just calories. Fuel your body to get the best milage.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
