Dr. Schram & Zeeland Hospital

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to say that I think Dr. Schram is an amazing surgeon and if you are considering the sleeve and you live on the west side of Michigan consider him. He is prompt, responsive, kind and professional. He prayed with me before surgery and followed up with me twice a day each day I was in the hospital. He definitely supported me going home when I felt ready which is a nice change from other surgeries I've had where it seemed they couldn't get you out fast enough. Himself and the PA both reassured me that if I need anything any hour of the day just to give them a call. The hospital itself was nice, newer in construction with a great complement of staff. The woman who registered me had gotten the sleeve two years ago and couldn't be happier. She even shared her before and after pics. That was just the type of person I wanted to meet while registering for this major surgery. Nurses were so kind calm and patient even though I had terrible nausea and pain they consistently tried to find different ways to help me.

Please note that I am not related to any of these individuals. I'm a teacher that lives about an hour and a half away and I just feel so grateful that I had such a great experience.

I also had dr. Schram do my surgery on April 15. I'm just over 3 months out. He is an amazing dr!! His whole staff is great!! My husband works for spectrum and has done some work with dr. Schram. Which is how I got hooked up with him when I decided to pursue surgery. I'm so happy I did it, so happy I choose him and so happy w my weight loss. The hospital was great too. I live only 35 min away. I recommend him to everyone!! He is current And stays on top of current issues in weightloss surgery. I just love him!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
