In my five years since vsg...I lost both my parents to heart disease and cancer. I am so so sorry for your loss. Stress = Weight Gain or Weight Stall for most of us.

Yoga, therapy, friends, church, love. ..knowing your mother wanted you to be taken care of and happy. You need to continue where she left off.

Love yourself like she loved and lived for you. You need to find it in you.

I lost my way and am just now trying to find my own way back. I know it's possible.

My mom died in 2010 and my dad in 2012. I too felt responsible for my Dad after she died. I felt so lost for so long. I also am raising two boys as a single mom. Yes I am strong but stress takes no prisoners. It aims to destroy and does its job well. Don't let it win. Life has a way of achieving balance with or without our help. There is only so much we really can do to help our loved ones. Do your best but you NEED to take time for YOU....***HUGS***

What she would want for you and what she would do for you and with you. You are ONE person. If you forget to take care of YOU = ONE, you can't help anyone else. Get school DONE. LOVE and care for DAD but that can't consume YOU. SMALL small really small changes and keep them permanent until they are second nature. Its ok if you make mistakes as long as you learn from them. That is something I had a hard time with but I think I get it now. You do not want to undo what you have worked so hard for. You know the program.... you are still doing well... you can continue where your mom left off and believe she will see and share in your success.

So sorry to hear about all the losses mentioned here - my heart goes out to each of you above. To the original poster, take it day by day, meal by meal. You can do this. Hang in there. Sometimes it is baby steps...focus on your Protein, your Water, and your exercise. I agree totally with has been said about stress here...we can't let stress win! Best of luck to you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
